newsbot 269
A substantial number of jobs got eliminated today at the radio behemoth including massive air talent layoffs. The carnage is so extensive that all air talent references have been removed from iHeart Radio websites. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/183270/ongoing-list-of-those-affected-by-iheartmedia-cuts/
TheRob 920
I'm surprised iHeart had that many people left to cut.
Yankees4life 545
2 hours ago, Samantha said: Scripps gets nailed with a $1.13 million fine from the FCC in an investigation from the ex-Cordillera stations over tower lighting and maintenance at 10 facilities in 5 states. Cordillera also had failed to notify the FCC of its purchase of two antenna structures. That'll teach them

hmaxhanson 650
Trying to stave off the inevitable bankruptcy and liquidation for another year. The question is, how much longer will it last?
newsbot 269
iHeart has already been through bankruptcy court. John Malone is trying to buy them but is facing stiff regulatory opposition. Frankly I don't see how he would be any worse than the jokers who own them now.
tyrannical bastard 3642
I hate to say it, with all of the veteran talent being cut, but this is what the endgame of iHeart will become....
10Viewer 320
WTVN in Columbus has, IIRC, a grand total of 3 people in their news department and now has 2 sports people. They seem to air news from other markets during their top and bottom of the hours news breaks. Sometimes it'll be entirely Toledo area news or northeast Ohio. DENDude 197
I wonder if we will see a big shift in ratings because of the cuts? It will be interesting to see if that happens or not. On a side note, these cuts made me think of this... I saw this years ago.. What would happen if Clear Channel (now I-Heart) took over radio station WWV.
