Awesome. I feel like they have had the same set since I was in college (back in like 05-06) so it is definitely about time. Glad to see they went the local route like WGHP!

Looks like Devlin is working on the set for WXII per the article.

 

I suspect it'll be something similar to some of the sets other Hearst stations have gotten (i.e. KOCO, WVTM, KOAT)

The first impression I get from that promo is perhaps they will still use a newsroom backdrop in some form.  Should be interesting to see the finished product when it debuts.

Even further than that... it debuted on 9/11.

Free Lance Staging usually does a lot of contractual work for BDI on their set builds. I wonder if this was the first time they've been contracted to do a build on Devlin's behalf.

That set, even though it is now like a Hearst-Set-In-A-Box is very nice.  I love the anchor and weather desk.  

 

WGAL needs this like now.  I think they have been in Studio B since 2004 in it's current studio.

Great observation...  This was our first project with DDG and thankfully our friends at WXII were keen on having us involved as the work was much appreciated during these times...  I hope everyone likes the set!

I have to say this. The Hearst (Argyle)'s set-in-a-box are way better than Tegna's set-in-a-box.

What was there temporary setup like? The teaser made it look like it was in its own studio but the construction area showed its the open newsroom.

Looks like they used a green screen for a lot of their newscast.

1. No doubt that it's a tremendous upgrade.

2. That surprised me as well. They made changes here and there throughout the years but it was largely the same set for nearly 20 years. I'm thinking it debuted the morning of the attacks, I can't imagine rolling it out at night.

They did roll it out a night... of Sept. 11 there video of them talking about and it shows a Clío of there now old set which was a newsroom set. Telling viewers were working on the latest of the 9/11 attacks...
