Normal branding and those colors are Pittsburgh you have to admit. When all of your pro teams basically have the same color scheme, why not? I believe WTTE/WSYX uses Ohio State scarlet and gray in the FOX-28 logo. And doesn't WPGH FOX-53 have black and yellow in their logo? 1 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/19050-wbzboston-and-other-cbs-oos-to-rebrand-newscasts/page/7/#findComment-283027 Share on other sites

NYNewsCoverage 300
Haven't seen an official confirmation, but someone mentioned in the WCBS thread that "News Now" may be cancelled soon, with the weekend editions officially scrapped. Will local stations then just regain control of their sister stations again? Pure speculation for now, since I haven't seen any article/source to confirm yet. 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/19050-wbzboston-and-other-cbs-oos-to-rebrand-newscasts/page/7/#findComment-288262 Share on other sites
PhillyWatch 239
I wouldn’t exactly say they “lost control” of their sister stations, but they did certainly lose valuable local news real estate. I’m also surprised those weekend editions haven’t been replaced with local newscasts, at least not yet. If we’re to believe what we read, local newscasts will likely be back (perhaps even doubled) on those sister stations, but we don’t know for sure to what level. Perhaps they’re waiting to re-add weekend newscasts if/when the full news expansions take place after the CW is dropped. Most people are under the impression that these sister operations will follow something of a KCAL route (who are heavy in news all morning and evening) but I’d imagine how many new newscasts are added will really vary by market. 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/19050-wbzboston-and-other-cbs-oos-to-rebrand-newscasts/page/7/#findComment-288263 Share on other sites

The original source was Scott Jones’ Patreon, so I’m going off that until I see official confirmation or proven otherwise. 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/19050-wbzboston-and-other-cbs-oos-to-rebrand-newscasts/page/7/#findComment-288265 Share on other sites
NYNewsCoverage 300
It seems as of this week "News Now" is no longer- WLNY is running NCIS at 9pm, but guides aren't yet updated. 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/19050-wbzboston-and-other-cbs-oos-to-rebrand-newscasts/page/7/#findComment-288819 Share on other sites

WLNY actually appears to be running the same NCIS that's airing on WCBS/CBS Primetime. Do we think this was planned or a last-second scramble to fill airtime? 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/19050-wbzboston-and-other-cbs-oos-to-rebrand-newscasts/page/7/#findComment-288821 Share on other sites
