GodfreyGR 688 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Just saw pics of the new Wheel of Fortune set on my Twitter feed... I get with having your first new host in decades, you usually want to go with a redesign, but this just feels devoid, cold, and cheap. 1 1 1
HanSolo 188 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Nearly anything would be an improvement over the pimping out of the set and the tacky theme week gimmicks. 1 1 1
24994J 5621 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Man, my initial screenshots sure are making the rounds. I've seen other clips and leaks from some theme/holiday weeks, and some added props and pieces definitely balance out the space better. This should look fantastic for CWOF. 3
sfomspphl 498 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Overkill on the wheel motif. The wheel itself should be the focal wheel on the set. Has those creepy vibes of the overuse of the eye on CBS sets. 4
MidwestTV 1240 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 It gives me hardcore sailor vibes with those giant wheels 1
nathannah 2496 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Feels very empty and vacant...not something that makes a good first impression when all the prizes aren't on-set and break up the blank clutter. 2

Seems like they might be going for a classic game show vibe with this art deco or streamline moderne aesthetic. 1

I was reading yesterday that the gold trimming around the puzzle board is supposed to be a nod to the puzzle board from the 80’s to the 90’s. 4
tyrannical bastard 4028 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Merv Griffin must be "spinning" the wheel right now. Perhaps Kramer will find the set in the dumpster and host the show in his apartment! 2

ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Feels very much like the KMGH set, tbh. Few architectural elements. Just big lit scrims in the back.

I haven't watched the show regularly in years but having Ryan Seacrest host it is very "meh" to me. Edited September 2, 2024 by tyrannical bastard 1

Oh, I see. The area of the new set where the double doors are located, which Ryan and Vanna walk through at the start of the broadcasts, somewhat looks like an awards show set to me. Lol. By and large, I am lukewarm to the new set but perhaps I will warm up to it over time though.
