Surely one of the coolest opens of all time.

Some old IDs from LT84 Channel 5, located in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.

This station was bought by Telefe in the 1990s and became an O&O. Before that, it used to cherry-pick programming from the 4 private stations in Buenos Aires, mainly from channels 9, 11 and 13.

1985. The Nine Network's Sunday had a very funky music, something strange for a news program.

In the 1990s, that music became more traditional, but in both cases beautiful as well.

A major renovation occured today on Canal 13's news image. They launched new graphics and music for the morning, midday and late newscasts, and also premiered a giant newsroom. It's very big and modern, but the Brazilian ones that belong to Rede Globo and Rede Record are much bigger. Despite that, here are some excerpts:

Telefe: promos and commercials from Saturday, September 30th, 1995.

Includes promos for The Simpsons, ER, a Formula 1 race and two news updates (because this channel didn't (and don't) have weekend news)

ITV's Good Morning Britain has just revealed an updated look:

This is a much better arrangement than the tweak they did to their original opener. Hated the previous music cut that was much softer.

Telenoche, the main evening news that airs nightly at 8PM on Canal 13 (Buenos Aires, Argentina) changed its music theme on Monday, June 8, 2015.

It went from this (a legendary and recognizable theme)

to this (very relaxing, but not newsy; it reminded me of CBS' 48 Hours)

Found on a different forum, but this was Telemontecarlo (now La 7) when they were owned by Globo (yes, the one from Brazil).

The fun part is where the CGI was re-used from; the intro of Globo's newsmagazine Fantástico (with a lot less dancing, of course)

Last Monday, Globo's main evening newscast, Jornal Nacional, after 17 years at their newsroom balcony set, moved into a brand-new, 14,750-square-foot studio at their Rio de Janeiro headquarters, integrating their television and online newsrooms, and adopted a new version of their longtime theme, replacing the last, 28-year-old, version.

First, the last JN from their previous set (last renovated in 2015), from last Saturday:

The first one from their new home:

And a behind-the-scenes look at the new set:

But the new JN theme isn't actually "new", because it was originally used for their special editions, since 2002 or so, in events such as the US attacks on Iraq, presidential inaugurations, announcements of a new Pope, and so on.

Inauguration of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (2003):

In June 2006, TN (Todo Noticias), then the most watched cable news channel in Argentina, underwent an interesting rebrand to celebrate its 13th anniversary on the air.

ID (designed by Gizmo: http://gizmosite.tv; one of the best idents I've ever seen in my whole life!)

Headlines (aired every 30 minutes)

And the full headline theme:

All the music package was composed by Eddie Sierra.

The channel also introduced the Vizrt system and led the way for other competing channels to implement it.

Azul Televisión (channel 9 in Buenos Aires) signing off on late June 2002.

You'll see the late news close, an ID and the next day's schedule. Yes, it returned back to the air at 11:30AM; today broadcasts 24/7. At that time, the station's stakes were shared by JP Morgan and Telefónica, which also owned Telefe.

In the first minute, international headlines provided by Telefe Noticias (you can hear its short-lived and interesting theme which lasted from June 1998 until January 1999),

and a short local report, followed by promos of movies and shows.

Australia's 60 Minutes report on Paul Keating's family and political life, shortly after becoming Prime Minister. The rarity is that the report was shot in film, and it was 1992.
