SuitSnob 19
Well, Wragge is back to wearing French cuffs on The Early Show, but he is counterbalancing that by taking the tie off like colockwork for the second hour every week. Why Chris, WHY?!?!?! Your outift is so pitch-perfect on the Lauer/ Cooper-level, why remove a piece of the divine balance of suited professional perfection, WHY?!?!?!?!? So, what else am I missing back there? This time of year they usually drag the B Team to the desk when the A Team is on vacation. SuitSnob 19
Todd Palin, husband of Madame Douche Sarah Palin the Queen Bitch From Hell had his bottom button done up when she was revealed as the candidate. Also, he was wearing a terrible, cheap suit. Obviously the Republicans must have taken him to the 911 Emergency Tailors to fix him up because the last few days he was looking slick. Side note: Did you all notice the stupid redneck kid who knocked up her slut daughter when he went on stage last night? Trashbucket was CHEWING/ SMACKING GUM right there on camera in front of almost 40 million people. At least I think it was gum, considering his sophistication level it might have been chaw... NewsJunkie247 1
Is that you in your avatar? What, no suit while reporting?!?!? Have I not taught you ANYTHING?!?!?!?! SuitSnob - You must have died a little inside!!!! In Todd's defense, it appears in his avatar that he was reporting on a feature story, but I know SuitSnob doesn't care if you are reporting on a feature story or not (For example, Chris Wragge and Lonnie Quinn on The Saturday Early Show). SuitSnob 19
Chris is still taking his tie off during the last hour of The Early Show...we'll see if the trend continues tommorow. Here are my No Tie Standards: 1) OK if you are doing an outdoor story that requires you to wear boots. 2) If it is very hot and/ or humid out. 3) If the story is so fluffy that a feamle reporter doing the same piece could get away with wearing a tank top. 4) If it a major, MAJOR story or event that requires extended reporting such as 9/11 or the pipe explosion. And when should a professional gentleman never be caught without a full suit and tie? Never, EVER report from the studio without the full suit/ tie combo. Ever. (also known as The Corning Rule) SuitSnob has spoken. SuitSnob 19
Great job...excellent presentation. But you would have had more authority in a suit and tie! SuitSnob 19
I would feel so awkward in at a bar in a suit and tie... I think it would attract more drunk people than just the lights and camera! What would the drunks do to you? Puke on you just on principle? Chris looked spectacluar this morning and managed to keep his tie on until the 90 minute mark. Lonnie looked like a douche and kept his on. There is no justice... alaskanews 113
What would the drunks do to you? Puke on you just on principle? Drunk people LOVE the camera, you can't tell me you've never seen a liveshot from a bar where people are hanging all over the reporter screaming YOU SUCK or the favorite sports bar liveshot painted up drunk guy going "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" But if it makes you feel better here is how I normally dress + a jacket of some kind... http://www.new.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30490413&l=009ef&id=64202658 (Crappy photo, looked much better in the paper) Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/405-male-fashion-disasters/page/17/#findComment-40650 Share on other sites
SuitSnob 19
OK...SuitSnob will add "Worried that drunks will puke on my SuitSnob-approved duds" to the list of acceptable reasons for a reporter not to wear a suit and tie. So in Alaska, would one be worried that the drunks would actually give you more shit than usual for being in a suit and tie? How uncivilized! SuitSnob 19
Chris lost his tie one hour thirty-seven minutes into broadcast this morning. SuitSnob 19
OHMIGOD!!! We were just going through the archives here at SuitSnob Industries and I found a heretofore unpublished photo of Chris Wragge fresh off the boat from california, smelling like oranges and looking like one too, due to his fake tan. If anyone wants to make an argument against the fact that appearence matters a great deal in broadcast journalism, check out this Before and After: BEFORE (Surfer Sports Dude): AFTER (SERIOUS NEWS DUDE): I rest my case. SuitSnob 19
First off.... Anyone see the Saturday Early Show this week? They put Chris and Lonnie in Norman Rockwell-esque sweaters for the last segments about Thanksgivng....it was so cute! Lonnie's was hot pink! Second, SuitSnob is once again on the move...but once again to a small market. HOWEVER-he is going to have a chance to get DirecTV for the first time, and I understand with some luck one might be able to get the New York network feeds...anyone have any experience with this? NewsJunkie247 1
I don't have DirecTV, but with a little bit of research on TVGuide.com, it is my understanding that with DirecTV Eastern, Central, and Pacific, the New York channels are the same, with and without local programming. Here is the DirecTV line-up for NY stations: WCBS-HD - 80 WNBC-DT - 82 WABC-HD - 86 WNYW-HD - 88 Then the east coast flagship stations are with the west coast flagship stations.. WCBS - 380 KCBS - 381 WNBC - 382 KNBC - 383 WABC - 386 KABC - 387 WNYW -388 KTTV - 389 HD and DT stations from NY- WCBS-HD - 390 WNBC-DT - 392 WABC-HD - 396 WNYW-HD- 398 Hopefully you will now get some of the NY stations and you can go back to ridiculing and praising anchormen in The Big Apple!!
