I can only assume they'll try to go the FAST direction or go heavy on promoting streaming through Local 10+/YouTube Live since they're ramping up the news schedule and there's no point in having that carriage when right now they only have three hours of syndicated programming on weekdays and by September, that will all be streaming next day itself (Live with Kelly is on Hulu, J!/WoF on Hulu/Peacock, The First 48 is on anything with an A&E library deal). It'll just simplify their digital reach overall. I wish them luck, but not being on those platforms will likely backfire and be reeled back if they decide to go for pro rights.

So they're doubling down on linear television? That's not going to work well for them. BH doesn't have the infrastructure for that.... Frankly there's demand of non-linear targeted stories, but not without the cost offset for the SAAS development.

yeesh. Seems like a fantasy or offshore TV station come to life in Miami. Hopefully "ABC Miami" will be their main brand, but they have to educate the OTA & cable/satellite viewers on channel position. "ABC Miami" is enough for OTT. I would imagine WPLG would continue on YouTubeTV. WJXT has always been carried as an independent so carrying WPLG post-switch should be a given. ABC would pull the strings for getting "ABC Miami" on there.

Was looking through the team page again, no changes since Yu's sudden removal (and she still has ABC7NY on her Instagram?), however I realized that they've never added Lindsay Tuchman for some unknown reason.

As a number of them were part of and still employed after the first Dr. Phil HR scandal and followed him to the Metroplex away from the security of LA and CBS, some of them knew why they were signing up for.

WPLG has picked up rights to women’s soccer club Fort Lauderdale United FC.

The last of Belo has been sold to Hearst. The Dallas Morning News will join other major Texas newspapers in the Hearst empire. Shareholders of the DallasNews Corp will receive $14/share and the paper will be taken private.

If there was one thing worse than TBN itself, it was this deal. Second place goes to CTN putting Newsmax as a subchannel on their stations. Sure, it looks like a nice public service move, but we all know their motives. Separation of church and state be damned.

Congratulations to Jessica. It seemed like she was the favored internal candidate as she was doing it three nights during the week while she was still doing weekends. I'm still surprised that it took them half a year to make it official, and it makes me wonder how seriously they might have been looking at external options. Not a fan of the solo anchor thing, especially at 11pm.

Apologies if this isn't the right place but I also didn't want to create an entire new thread but, if there is one thing that's bothered me with the new look for the Evening News, it's the intro, it so simple, so, here's an intro concept!

A video is up now on the subpage showing that WSVN is going full in on the 18 position, including a 'circle 18' logo (and a 7.2 logo) that reminds me of ABC's advertising 'bullets' in the TV Guide days.
