Megatron81 started following Fox to buy Roku for $22 million and DOJ Clears Paramount/Warner Megamerger

The EU will prove the merger as the land down under Aussie has already approved the deal. And I believe that Ellisons will sell the some of the cable networks as I have heard there willing to sell nick or Cartoon Network.
-
I thought it was going to be Comcast that was going to be buying Roku. I didn't think it would've been FOX since they own Tubi I see them meagering Tubi & Roku in my opinion.
-
I initially disclosed it, but retracted it, as I forgot that I received it as kind of private info. I will say that it's debuting today at 5 CT. I'll post about it then.

And that station is...?
- Today

And I may be wrong about this, but I strongly believe they'll define "the best of TV and film" to be only new and current television and picture content, with everything old out of the question (meaning the classics are out, and it'll only be new and current).

Yes, which they advertised heavily immediately after the final buzzer. They could've probably went into breaking news once the first post-game ended and the main telecast was done, but remember that Inside the NBA had an interview with Jalen & Rick Brunson that most people watching probably wanted to see after the former won the MVP. You could be right about them having no choice though, as I'm sure both ESPN and Turner/WBD would've been a bit mad about losing Inside in the market of the champions. I would assume the opposite, that most people would stick with channel 7 rather than flip to another channel, especially since only channel 7 wouldve had the trophy presentation and the post-game interviews. Not to mention by that virtue they were also on the air the latest, their coverage ending around quarter to 2.

Another reminder that vertical integration is alive and well these days. How long until all of the Warner Brothers FAST content is pulled to be added to HBOMaxParamount+?
-
...until the day they (are announced to) merge to "maximize the entertainment and monetary opportunities of both properties to create an FAST TV powerhouse that brings the best of TV and film to our hundred millions viewers that crave world-class free content". We shall see.

One station in Missouri is going all-in on such a format, completely ditching their main studio. The new format and logo/graphics will debut very soon.

Fox says the plan is to continue running Tubi and Roku Channel separately

This is not meant to be a list thread, but it seems like Nexstar is **finally** embracing the internet and OTT apps, and has taken a deep dive into podcasting. The catch? These shows are not only being broadcast on air, but are pushing out traditional newscasts and recent layoffs seem to corroborate this. The ones i've seen so far are WKRG's weekend sports show morphing into their "Southeast Sports" podcast, a joint venture between several Nexstar stations in the southeast. Any other notable ones?

It's a one-off. They're not taking her off the 4 pm now that she's the actual co-anchor, not the third anchor role. Just like we can guess with the attention Disney is giving Independence Day this year that some set of the main anchor teams will be on, none of which means they are moving them to Saturdays.
-
Were they streaming live? I didn't think to look. I couldn't believe that they put on the second post-game show after the first post-game show and didn't go to local news (I guess they had no choice, but still). I have to imagine that they lost a lot of viewers to the other stations, which had extended their late local news to celebrate the victory.
-
Pretty sure it was a one off since Philly was hosting its first World Cup game this year. I believe she had also been off the past two weeks. Trish Hartman has on occasion also sat alongside him, as has Sharrie.

Yeah I know 2 & 4 got to react live, 5 had late news but I don't know if they hit 11:30, I DO know they also went rolling coverage, 11 might have online but OTA they I assume broke into Seinfeld (and they pre-empted the Honeymooners, something I didn't know they were capable of doing), 7 definately had coverage online although that might have started just after, they had a box cover the outside of the picture to say so which looked oddly closer to channel 5's graphics package than 7's...the coverage popped on OTA after Inside the NBA ended, close to 1 AM (oddly started with a breaking news bumper rather than the 11pm open despite the newscast being scheduled after the game) Of the two I saw, Channel 4 seemed to actually call the final play of the game, Channel 2 i think did the same to an extent but they seemed to be somewhat in disbelief. I have to check if I actually did get a DVR of Channel 5

The stations should really post that, it would be epic to see.
-
Missing from this of course is the reaction from the anchor desk the moment the knicks won (i had been dvring the various 11pm newscasts since i wanted to have the reactions should the knicks have won (of course, they did) but didn't get the whole reaction since the DVR cut off where SNL would've started). 2 was also at the anchor desk when the buzzer sounded and they got pretty emotional there.

Sarah Bloomquist was reporting live from the Linc for the World Cup during the 6pm show tonight. Now she's back in the studio at 10pm to co-anchor with Walter. I wonder if it's just for the special occasion (plus there's been a lot of news/weather this weekend), or if she's moving back to Sunday nights.

News Active 3 has the post Knicks victory broadcasts from the big three local stations uploaded. Here is WNBC's coverage. Loving the Knicks themed desk.

Its a remarkably repeated history, full circle 1999 analog moment in both respects.
