1. They'll probably never have one because it's better to complete when all the stations in NYC have news at noon, versus at 11am where you complete against The Price Is Right on WCBS and The View on WABC, both powerhouses in the market when it comes to network programming.

 2. Hi, this is the FCC. We need to take back your broadcast license for that comment.

 3. Does the bug have weather forecasts? I missed the 11am news.

 4. Watch it be the jeep that KNBC got. I can't see them spending the money for an F-250 for an area that gets no snow.

 6. It happened again. The morning show came to a sudden end at approximately 9:52 because of audio problems. I love this show.

 7. All the NBC O&Os schedules are practically identical. Philly, DC, Miami, and CT all are on east coast, and all do 11am. When LA moved thier's from noon to 11am, it was only announced on short notice. Same with Chicago back when that happen. So while it may not happen, the reasons you offer are not on point and make no sense whatsoever.

 8. You know what you reported is great and accurate when someone praises you for your information/article. That came true for me today as my article on my blog has been praised by the V.P., G.M. and G.S.M. of WHAG Television, who's had that job since September of 1986. 9. Tom Negovan's in Orlando, and Mark Suppelsa's off, so Steve Sanders is back on the news at 9. It feels so right.

 10. I found News '80s, it was on a demo on a CD of news/talk radio jingles put out by Ken R. back in the early 00s. (Sorry, this was literally the only music in the clear, the rest had narration or announcer/newscaster voices - and the latter were probably demonstrations done by VTS, not using actual station talent.) There was some TV stuff on the CD too, including another VTS demo. The only other TV news music I could recognize in this other demo (or anywhere else on the CD) was KSBW 1987, nothing else in it has ever shown up on any recordings, so we can't know who used any of the others... News 80s was mistaken as being the KENS 80s package by NMSA until I emailed a correction. That's when he finally posted the MP3 of the clean 1:00 which I sent him. Fourth-ed on that other theme most likely being VTS. I will have to get in touch with Hal Brown again sometime.

 11. The signature at 0:13/the end is the same as the KTVW/WWLP package!! I bet that the KTVW set (from the "barrel roll" open) is a "News 80s v2". BTW, I do not believe KTVW would have commissioned a package. If anything they were kinda cheap.

 12. Finally, a clean one minute closing cut of "News '80s" by VTS Productions was added to the NMSA site. I noticed musical stylings and instrumentation similar to the 1985 WAVY theme and hints of the WWLP-WANE-WLOX theme, which is listed as the "KTVW 1986 News Theme"... I still think the KTVW package was produced and released by VTS. One of these days, hopefully someone will uncover a music reel or something for the proof.

 13. Not just that, a new one-hour newscast at 4:00pm on the station's 64th birthday, July 18th. Signed on-air July 18th, 1952.

 15. Most of the stations, not all. Sorry about that.

 16. All I was trying to say is that it is highly unlikely WNBC will do an 11 am just because the others O&Os have one. It just seems like everyone else wants the 11 a.m. so bad making it seem like they saw a press release or something. I also know that they are noon broadcast on the west and central zones. That's why I said MANY meaning not all.

 19. Earlier this year, , as well as other material, that had formerly been owned by the station's chief engineer and wound up on eBay. There are 21 minutes of raw footage from these "lost reels" (no audio). They show a variety of KOAM's local program output, cooking shows, kids' programs and behind-the-scenes items. If only we could get fuller clips of some of those 80s and 90s opens from KOAM...you know, beyond the 1.7-second Get to Know Us sample.

 20. New graphics on the news at 11! Same generic open with no voice over. Same music. They have the bottom bar but no top bar. Top bar only during breaking news and weather. They had the 7 day during the weather segments but at the very end of the newscast they showed the 10 day.

 21. WBTV has extended its primary female anchors, Maureen O'Boyle and Molly Grantham, for multiple years. No specifics, but they have been there since 2004 and 2003, respectively. Great to see WBTV remain stable despite all of the turnover that has occurred in the market over the past number of years.

 22. That's Steve Kamer. He's picked up more local radio and TV stations of late than he used to; he voices KNXV here.

 23. Honestly, this doesn't seem that bad IMO. I agree they are pretty pointless, but I wouldn't put it past me to say they're ugly. Also, removing the social links or moving the graphic somewhere else wouldn't make much of a difference since most people wouldn't care about them anyway (even if social media is driving news now), and them forcing you to stop watching a newscast is pretty ridiculous. If anything, I'd rather take this over the recently-formed practice of zooming the camera on only the anchor's face with it taking up most of the screen. THAT is pointless, distracting and (dare I add) ugly.
