  2. Here's something interesting I saw recently. I did a TV query on Parkersburg, WV and found that Gray has a construction permit for what appears to be (on paper, at least) a WDTV translator in Parkersburg. Is Gray trying to replace WIYE with a WDTV translator for the market's CBS affiliate, possibly clearing up WIYE for an ABC affiliation? It's very interesting considering the Parkersburg and Clarksburg markets were supposed to be one large market in the late 50's.

  4. Given that the area is quite hilly with large valleys, having its transmitter on VHF 2 is not as bad as you would think, since it would penetrate into the valleys a lot better. Although having it on VHF-high would be best in that case.

  5. For me, TEGNA is the most likely vote but then Nexstar. Raycom may be the least likely in my opinion.

  6. Sinclair gets raked over the coals... AGAIN... this time by Bloomberg. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-07-20/the-sinclair-revolution-will-be-televised-it-ll-just-have-low-production-values I wonder how many stations keep their supplies locked away in their 2 lock closets.....and what would have happened if David Smith was still distributing pornos...

  8. Nexstar can't pick up WHDF - not enough full power stations in the market (unless they can pull a failing station stunt). J

  12. Possibly, but it depends on who buys WKNX from Lockwood. Nexstar and TEGNA are possible, but so is Raycom.

  16. The test chart was worth the click... Yes Sinclair is low budget...yes they are typical weaselly goofs. I don't want them in my hood. But if I'm stuck with them, then I will watch and laugh at them just like I do with Scripps and whoever my flavor of the week is . At KBEX we keep all the office supplies under lock and key . People steal stuff, and it's a problem that has become 10 times worse over the last 10 years. We lock it up...just like we lock up the liquor. So much for trust. Are you as excited as I am about the first O.J. Simpson "Tweet" and Facebook post???

  17. For starters you have those 2 weeks of the Sundance that generates a bunch of cash for the area. if you are looking to do something hyper-local , it just might be worth it. Steady tourism...skiing, mountain biking....money. Heck you might be able to run Popeye cartoons, Law and Order reruns 50 weeks a year. Then you run 2 weeks of boutique Sundance programming for the rich fools. You would be programming for a transient population. Dream station....sign me up!

  18. Doesn't look like KJZZ has a translator in Park City. Considering that it's one of the largest cities outside the Wasatch Range (and probably one of the wealthiest areas of Utah), maybe Deerfield thought it would be worth while? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KJZZ-TV#Translators
