‘GNX and WBNS were two of Eric Gordon’s first clients for doing the voiceover, back when he wasn’t overused as he is now. Never got why Doug wasn’t used for news/promos - or was he? Here’s WAGA talking about said affiliation shuffle:3 points

I have previously uploaded the last WGNX News at 7:30pm (12/9/94). Two days before the switch to CBS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=OUk9NzcKCJA;t=16 And this news update is from mid December 1994 when 'GNX (Now 'CGL) now affiliated with CBS.3 points

I saw this in the tv week publication in the Bucks County Courier Times, obviously this publication wasn't accurate.2 points

We take you back to 1980 and a rare look at WSAV as an NBC station during this period. A news brief can be seen at 5:19 and an ID at 8:43 featuring an unknown news theme WSAV may have used during this period.2 points

One thing I want Jeff to do is get a haircut. I know that seems like nothing to worry about but he need a new look. He just looks like a man trying hard to keep his 90s look.2 points

Jeff Hogan at WBNS will take Bill Leslie's job at WRAL in Raleigh in January. I guess Jeff got tired of waiting for the main gig at BNS... http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/12/8/raleigh-station-names-new-anchor1 point

They mentioned on the air tonight, adding that insurance won't cover a lot the bills, so a funding account has been set up by friends.1 point

Wow, never seen that before! Planer died in 2011. He was a producer for Today at the time. Later he would become the head of the network's European news operation.1 point

Antenne 2's 8 p.m. news from 40 years ago this week, this time around with a Chromakey background (The bizarre coronation of Jean-Bédel Bokassa as Emperor of Central Africa -- a lavish ceremony that virtually bankrupted his country -- is the lead story):1 point

While I agree with her that the poster was wrong, she must've forgot her time at WCAU and why she was let go. She is not one to talk. If memory serves me correct, as I was a member of the forum she was allegedly posting at back in the day, she posted inappropriate comments including about another African-American reporter, on multiple occasions calling her the n word. http://www.phillyvoice.com/former-nbc10-anchor-goes-viral-calling-out-racist-email-air/1 point

That "ATV News Report" logo could work today with only a few changes...1 point

KMOX debuted their "Newsroom" format in 1973. Anchoring from a newsroom was being done in the 1950's/60's. Tampa's WTVT is a good example. Seems like the 70's experienced a revival of the concept. BTW, are there any clips of Jerry Dunphy anchoring at KNXT?1 point

Sherwood is President of Disney-ABC so he does actually directly oversee the O&Os now-- he hasn't been ABC News President in a while.1 point
-
Ben Sherwood has nothing to do with it. ABC News does not oversee or control WABC. The station is a division of the Disney Owned Station Group. ABC News is a completely different entity. They both answer to the same corporate executives in California who will have to sort the whole thing out.1 point

http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/11/26/taking-it-to-the-top Here's somewhat of an update. I think it's really sad to be completely honest. It's horrible to have to go to work and have everyone be miserable because of the top. Hoping that this just gets cleared up and no one else has to suffer. Like I said if the top isn't taken down there are ones who will leave. Those behind the scenes who aren't making much could probably jump ship to pretty much anywhere. If they wanted too both Bill Evans and Diana Williams could walk away pretty. I mention them because they are the next ones likely to leave within 5-10 years anyway. Bill Evans is in his late 50s now and has kids almost through college (I think) and is newly remarried. Diana is probably weighing her options with all that's happened in her personal life recently. We just wait and watch now I guess.1 point

January 20, 1981, was a momentous news day: In the space of a few hours, Ronald Reagan was inaugurated and the American hostages in Iran were released. Here's ABC's World News Tonight from that historic day. Note the rarely seen Frankfurt bureau set: And this is how Antenne 2 in France covered the day's events:1 point

With regards to the Michelle and the weekday morning slot, maybe she was the better choice, but did anyone think that just maybe the decision was more than just who has better chemistry with Ken? Perhaps it was a cost-reducing decision? If Michelle would've gotten it then Toni or someone else would've moved into Michelle's weekend slot, resulting in a huge pay increase for that person, as they were adding anchor duties to their role. Under the current scenario, no new anchors were added.1 point
