Negovan would be my pick as successor, but I wish they'd give Ben and Lourdes the 6 o'clock hour. I don't care for the evening news falling under a singular brand, and there's no reason why that competent team only has an hour while every other anchor duo sits for at least 2 per day.

Steve's in a neck and neck race with Dick Johnson for oldest anchors remaining. As nice as it would be, I can't imagine him being a viable long-term option. If they want a lead anchor on at 4/5, 6, 9, and 10, then they should install whoever as anchor of the midday show and one of the early evening shifts (whenever Steve retires). That would cut a little fat, without forcing anyone out.

Very similar to WTOG's graphics from the same era. WTOG was WVIT's sister station for that brief period between the WNYT/WHEC trade to Hubbard and WVIT's sale to NBC.

That promo is from sometime in 2004 as it was after when Bob Kovachick shaved his mustache and the weather center had already been redone yet were still using their 1997 weather graphics. No, and I don't think Ann would ever agree to come back no matter what kind of money and contract they throw at her. She has moved on. NBC can't force Ann to come back if she doesn't want to.

This is just an hypothetical opinion question, so be nice in your response. If Megyn Kelly decided to leave Today or NBC decided to move her off the 9 am hour Do you think NBC would ever consider bringing back Ann Curry and doing ANN CURRY TODAY and give her her own show? Prior to Matt determination, I would never thought NBC would bring her back, However I feel that if NBC brought her back it would be a great PR move for the Network and it would be very highly rated because everyone would watch at first out of curiosity. Logitically I think their would be several things NBC would need to do first before they even consider doing such a show. First, they would need to develop a good format, and help her develop a good show. This is something I was thinking about, and is just hypothetical. NBC has invested a lot in Megyn Kelly and I doubt they would want remove her or she would want to leave after only 1 year. Also this would depend on Ann Curry wanting to come back to NBC, which she may not want to.

That is disappointing, Janet is a very good News Director. Weeters is right, one reason she came to WTMJ when it was owned by Journal was because she was given free rein on the News Department. Over time Scripps corporate has taken over more control, and in turn ratings have gone lower. Several rounds of budget cuts haven't helped either.

That TV Asahi newscast's open was a bit behind the times...it imitates the proto-TVbD look from CNN's beginnings!
