  2. I'm sure Tom is ambitious, but who really wants to be tied to the anchor desk all day? Rafer (WFLD) only anchors Friday and Saturday and unlike his predecessor, Scott, has never worked the Live Desk @ 5P and spends most of his time out in the field. From Tom's bio- 'When Mark’s busy, you’ll find Tom filling in on WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine and Ten alongside Micah Materre. But truth be told, he’d rather be out covering a story.' That pretty much speaks for itself. I'm guessing Larry was asked/considered, but probably likes the shift he has. In by 4A out by like 10-11A isn't a bad deal. Get to spend a great deal of time/one's day with the family.

  3. WVNY is another (nominally) Nexstar station that does the same. Given their apprehension of programming a 5:00 hour, I wonder if they shed an hour and enter the 4:00 game too.

  6. Look under transaction description to either KFNB or KTWO. All Gray is going to do is move CBS stream to a sub of KCWY. Or didn't they already bought some LPs in that market?

  7. Interesting that KGWC is being spun off. I imagine there is going to be some network shuffling of some sort. And who will want KGWC, arguably one of the CBS network's worst affiliates?

  8. And yet they did manage to gobble up Schurz which doubled their portfolio. I'm just telling you what I've heard on the inside, Hilton is in a buying mood and watch out.

  9. If that mistake was to be made, 6am on a weekend is the way to do it. I'd like to think they've since renamed all relevant photo files.

  10. Get ready for "Dateline 6". "Dateline 6" was WABG's newscast title in 1978. I say this, because we feature a rare look at WABG's news operation back in 1978. Courtesy of former WABG anchor Calvin Dean, here is a clip of a WABG newscast from 1978 with a clip of their news intro.

  11. Ex-WHDH'er Christa Delcamp is - supposedly - headed to NBC Boston. Too bad if that is so. http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/names/2018/01/29/christa-delcamp-departs-channel/x5IjErau2eJw2spx5lGrGL/story.html
