  3. i think they placed it where the old 4X3 safe zone goes. i think they should lower it if no one is watching it on a 4X3 TV.

  4. She always reminds me of former WGN-er Robert Jordan. Maybe it was the calm delivery they shared. Anyway, here’s to a happy retirement to her.

  12. Lester Holt is off tonight. I will presume unless and until I hear otherwise that he's only off because he's scheduled to be off if you know what I mean.

  13. I just can't believe that people thought he was KIDNAPPED. What is wrong with people?? And, I don't think having Berks sports coverage with someone else is at all strange. It's so far from the regular news room and there's no way they could have the same team of people cover everything, especially including video footage. Berks County is huge.

  16. WJLA's 11pm newscast from September 4, 2003. I think this open was used for about a year. Check out the 13:27 mark where Leon Harris is introduced as the station's new evening anchor.

  17. I made it to 250 posts! And at least half of them was on this thread! The last few minutes of the other Pro News in Texas, KVIA-TV from April of 1982, along with the first minutes of their PM Magazine franchise, using a short version of the 1979 intro: A YT user looks back at the tornados that hit KOCO-TV 20 years ago this June, including clips of interviews with staff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ1EIg2opHo A clean intro to KNXT's news from 1975, one of the first, if not the first, CGI news intros: A documentary on BFBS from the early 80s:

  18. I do not follow you. However, I’m observant, your posts stand out, and I have taken notice of your pattern. I’m not taking it personally, it just seems that you have a vendetta against NBC properties, namely Today and NN. And it seems like you repeat the same stuff over and over. I have not bothered looking at your post history, but the only time I have seen you comment elsewhere is after I called you out.

  19. With a reduced role for Lara, they could stand to shift Michael's focus to the second hour, hell, even 7:30. I know most here are not fans of Strahan, but I generally like these moves. For being a co-anchor, Lara wasn't treated like one, and Amy is finally getting a more established role, so good for both of them.

  20. Hi, my name is Ryan. I have been lurking around this site for a while. Always good to see the posts on the Classic Video Thread. Here's my first contribution, something very rare: segments of NewsWatch circa 1978 on Kanlaon Broadcasting System (KBS) in the Philippines (later RPN, today known on-air as CNN Philippines), presented by Ramon Imperial (no open or anything else, unfortunately).
