  1. Another re-cycled weather person re-appears. Sally Ann Mosley, former of WNBC 4, on the news live at noon, anchored today by Kristen Shaugnessey. Normally Roma Torre is the anchor.

  2. Posting this in as I believe the graphics KHBS/KHOG used in 1994 were similar to the ones WNYT’s 1988-1991 “News 13” Package was (I’ve seen pics online of their GFX and they looked similar).

  5. So, a press release is out where WGN is claiming victories and 2nd place finishes in every slot but 10pm, mostly in the demo, but I have one question; like preempted network newscasts, are they omitting baseball-shortened/completely dumped 4pm hours in these numbers? Either way, I can't imagine that their success at 4 isn't due to more baseball lead-ins. Either way, I'm guessing these summer numbers aren't so off of normal performance that we could legitimately say that Chicago's Very Own is also Chicago's #2 News. 6. This game telecast from 1986 is notable for two reasons: -it is the final game Wichita State played in football (the program was disbanded within a month) -it was also the final regular season game in ASU's Rose Bowl season Wichita State football at the time was telecast by KBS (KWCH). As a bonus... -There's a promo at 1:37:00... -and at 2:55:35 is a promo leading into the KWCH sign-off. This must have been a repeat.

  7. So they're eyeing an expansion to Saturdays without seeing how Sundays may go by first.

  8. I agree when EW Scripps pushed Leon Bibb and Lee Jordan out "so called retirement". I knew Leon wouldn't set back, I know he did come back on WEWS once or twice after leaving. Cleveland TV news market is very great market when it comes to talent. We are proud to have Leon and all other others.

  10. For the purpose it serves, the show is fine. It's never going to compete with 6 or 10 nor do I think that's their intention. They wanted a feature rich show that covers the headlines and weather and the rest of the show, long form C and D block material. I'm sure they'd be perfectly content with beating Judge Judy by the February book.

  13. Has Dick Goddard ever appeared on TV since his retirement? I know he committed the rest of his career to the "four foots" (animal welfare) that has been his passion for decades...but it's a good thing he hang it up before all of the ownership drama over Tribune and Sinclair heated up..(and about to go back to the drawing board any day now....) I still think Robin Swoboda still has one more TV stint in her....and WOIO is the only place she hasn't worked at yet. John Loufman is the only Cleveland TV personality I know of that has the distinction of working at ALL 4 stations in some form over time. He may have been a "floater" who had short-term gigs to fill in-between people and when others were on vacation. Cleveland had a bunch of them it seems in the 1990s...was it a union thing?

  15. Jason is the likely successor since he's already anchoring at 4 pm. He's moved up quickly too I remember him doing the weekends not too long ago.

  16. I posted that in the shout box. It wouldn't surprise me if they did because a great portion of CW viewers stream the shows anyway but that didn't stop a Sunday expansion from happening. If they could get affiliates to agree to Sunday nights, Saturday may not be a hard sell. Some stations would welcome it. KPXJ and KMYS both just air sitcom/drama reruns on Saturday night.

  17. They did a tease at noon ahead of the first broadcast, and a talent shot showed only the 4 anchors, so I'm guessing they're not testing Kate and Don as official parts of the team, and unless Lauren is leaving weekends, they might opt for a rotation of the weekend people. When the dust settles, I bet we'll end up only seeing Ukee and Jessica for the headline read at the bottom of the hour, the two alternating days.

  18. I agree. Wheeler is a bona-fide successor.

  19. 7 if you count Jessica's pop-in in the 2nd half hour for a headlines read.
