  2. I know this is not the speculation thread but... 8.1 = ABC 8.2 = Me-TV 8.3 = H&I 51.1 = CW 51.2 = MyTV 51.3 = Escape 51.4 = Laff I may be wrong, but that's how I see it.

  3. They'll dump Escape and Laff first chance they get; those aren't networks Hearst has affiliations with solely for quality concerns, along with them being Scripps networks. I could see them also killing the "WPME" schedule off to remove the confusion of the Ion deal and move the 10 hours of dead weight to 51.1's overnights and bump it up to 1080i when they merge their MC in.

  4. Why history? Many stations across the country from DMA 1 and down have female chief meterologists, some for many many years.

  7. Wow, not pompous or full of himself at all. Sounds like Jason is really down to earth. He would be deserving of the chair (if they let him sit ); at least he wouldn't be one of the new crop of no-name who's-that talking heads that are coming along at some stations.....

  8. Folks, I had a brief chat with Jason Wheeler last night about being the soon-to-be John McCaa's successor. And this is what he told me via Facebook. "Thanks---but I'm sure they have a whole list of other candidates they are considering. Whoever it is will have some big shoes to fill." They may have a list of candidates, but I know who's getting the big seat... It's Jason.

  11. Clearly, this is the precursor move to Hearst acquiring the Cox stations.

  12. What I find interesting about KNXV is that their weekend morning anchors, Nohelani Graf and Alison Rodriguez also do the weather for the show. Usually, they alternate doing the weather while they both anchor. I think that Philadelphia (my home market) is the only market (if not one of the only markets) where all four chief meteorologists are women. There's Tammie Souza on NBC 10, Kathy Orr on FOX 29, Kate Bilo on CBS 3, and the one and only Cecily Tynan on 6 ABC.

  13. Here’s a real treat... What gets me is that there are TONS of WNYT opens from 2018 after the set change yet their 1990s stuff is so limited.

  14. I think the historic part is by having two female meteorologists as the evening weather lineup. Lots of stations have at least one, but I'm struggling to think of any that have two.

  15. Yep, WNNE has left Hartford, VT and has moved its COL to Montpelier, VT, the state capital and it now transmitting alongside WPTZ at Mount Mansfield at RF 14.

  17. I'm going to respectfully disagree. I think Savannah is one of the worst anchors in Today's history.
