  1. While WGN and WMAQ have Tom Skilling and Brant Miller in tonight, WLS is using Tracy Butler and Phil Schwarz together on team coverage. I'm kinda surprised, since I figured they'd definitely want Tracy there tomorrow morning, as the blizzard will be continuing through the morning commute. I wonder if Tracy will also appear on the 10pm tonight or if she'll go home after this newscast and come back in the morning.

  3. So basically all WFAA did was groomed Wheeler to do afternoon newscasts instead of succeeding John McCaa on the evening newscasts. Alrighty then, that was their choice

  4. Presenting... Maury's first-ever DNA show from 1998! Notice the lack of booing the denier when she comes out and the lack of bleeps every 5 seconds.

  5. It's been a rough road getting here, but we're excited to reveal the new site. Let's get to it! Outside of visual changes, there aren't a whole lot of functional changes. Notable changes include: Mobile support is improved, especially when composing a message. Emoticons are OUT and the full suite of emojis are IN. BBCode has been removed completely in favor of a more robust WYSIWYG editor. The logo has been refreshed. Coming soon: We will be restoring the ability to register and sign in with popular web services like Google, Twitter, and Facebook. And there is much more to come in the days and weeks ahead! Stay tuned for more updates. Regrettably, the old Shoutbox was not able to be carried over to the new site. We are looking into our options when it comes to real-time discussion, including integration with services like Discord, which many of you already use. This will also be addressed within the coming days. Please reach out if you encounter any issues, either by PM or by emailing [email protected].

  6. This is what happens when a company like Sinclair gets too big for its bridges. They can't even roll out a graphics package correctly

  7. A montage of ITV's intros of the Formula One broadcasts between 1997 (when they took the rights away from the BBC) until 2008 (when the BBC regained the rights)

  8. To piggyback on that, did Sinclair ever mandate a standard graphics switching system for their stations? I remember seeing that the lack of one was partially the reason why the Glass/Curves look had such an uneven and prolonged rollout.

  9. So far it seems as if the rollouts is only limited to things like the Weather graphics, etc. What's the reasoning behind all of that?

  12. In May 1993, Canal 13 launched an impressive campaign, promising that you'll be able to see 3D television. The station aired some shorts of landscapes and animals during 360 and Telenoche, two of its most important programs. More than 2 million glasses were sold: it costed $1. It was considered a failure, but it's something that those to have the chance to see it still remember to this day. Some promos of the campaign: Here's an example of the footage that you could see on "3D".

  13. In the memory of Texans owner Bob McNair. If it wasn't for McNair, NFL Football would have never return to Houston. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=Aq-GIkxGe6I;t=9

  14. Fusion was the name of the ABC venture. Also, let us not forget that Liberman Broadcasting was the venture behind the infamous Spanish talk show “Jose Luis Sin Censura” (basically the Spanish language version of “Jerry Springer”); that show, if I’m not mistaken, got SEVERAL of Liberman’s stations (if not the entire company) in hot water with the FCC several years ago.....

  15. Not surprised. When you go up against Spanish networks like Telemundo and Univision (whom is having it's own problems up against Telemundo), then you don't have much of a chance to compete. Look at what happened to MundoFOX and that ABC venture whose name escapes me.
