  1. A commercial break featuring WJLA’s This is Your News promo, must’ve been the first day using this then-new package:

  2. I checked out KGNS's live stream over the weekend and they're using the WMC package (seems to be the default graphic pack for most of their footprint). But it sounds like they've dropped Inergy for two music themes. On the opens its U-Phonix, but on the bumpers/teases and closes its Third Coast. As for WIFR, it appears they have a variant of the WBAY/WBTV graphic package with a change of fonts.

  3. I think Rob Nelson was an amazing talent for a morning show. But, yes, Phil Lipof is great himself, too.

  5. Not sure if other LA stations were clamoring, but it is no secret that KTTV has languished in the mornings for years. To take a popular talent from their direct competition (KTLA) and bring them on to their morning show speaks to them trying to change their fortunes in the ratings department. Don't forget KTTV recently acquired Stu Mundel from KCBS/KCAL. Stu was their popular nightside chopper reporter known for his animated coverage of police pursuits. KTTV is making moves to be competitive. Not sure if KTLA wanted Michaela back. The morning A team they have now with Frank, Jessica, Mark and Sam works well for them. When Michaela left KTLA, I was one of the doubters on Jessica being able to fit the news anchor role well as she was previously the PM weather caster with the late Hal Fishman and then moved on to AM entertainment/features reporter. She has definitely earned my respect. She does a good job in the anchor seat.

  6. I don't know, I'll have to see tomorrow. I don't really like Justina or Liberty doing weather... They are awkward at it. Aloha is doing midday.

  9. Wow! The FCC has greenlighted the KWWT/KMDF-LD transaction. What I'm shocked about is where is the document that states that the "failed station waiver" is GRANTED? It's a document similar to this when they approved the WYCI's FSW. EDIT 9/15: Okay. Here it is.

  12. Gray is launching 4:00 news on KVLY 11.2 (CBS/KX4) Fargo today. Displaces Judge Judy (Which already gets an hour earlier in the day on 11.1/NBC) Not the first 4:00 for the market- WDAY/ABC has had news in the timeslot for a couple of years now.

  13. It will be interesting to see if/when the paperwork is up. SagamoreHill may simply be wanting out of the operations side of WLTZ and the "non-license assets" may be up for sale, and the result could be like with most of SagamoreHill's other stations, where they are the licensee, and someone else runs it. Market share could be an issue though. Mission seems to be on a buying spree as of late, could they take WXTX off of American Spirit's hands? That gives WRBL a sister station.
