  1. What if we just wait on an announcement instead of taking wild and unfounded guesses every newscast?

  2. It's about time. The FCC needs to look into Lubbock and Columbus as well.

  3. Looking at the setup Gray has in Anchorage, per RabbitEars: CBS is on KTUU's spectrum as 5.11 RF22 is now KYES-LD with CBS on 5.1 RF7 is now KAUU with 5.2 Antenna TV, 5.3 Circle, and 5.4 MyN I did not see it in the document, but could the FCC force Gray to give CBS back to GCI, who'll have to resume operations on KTVA?

  4. Wowza. If not for the statutory cap, the base penalty would have been $1,720,000—and likely to be adjusted upward. Also worth noting: Gray ended the violation by moving the CBS stream to K22HN-D (now KYES-LD)...and then putting it on a subchannel of KTUU. How dumb this whole mess is. It's clear these rules were not written with multicasting in mind.

  5. Big Bump. The FCC wants to fine Gray $518,293 because of this move. From B&C:

  6. WCAU studios being in the headquarters of Comcast gives them easier access to the execs. Rockefeller Plaza is no longer the center of all things NBC; therefore the prominence of ‘CAU has risen. It is the 4th largest market (Philadelphia) so that shouldn’t be surprising. Of course WNBC is the East Coast “Flagship” and KNBC is it’s West Coast Counterpart. But WCAU is definitely at the top of the NBC O&O’s food chain. The money poured into the station would definitely make it a contender for “flagship” lite.

  7. I’d say the days of WNBC as the flagship is gone—they been replaced by WCAU. The perennial market leader continues with voiceovers and clear, recognizable, sonic branding.

  9. KSBW in 2000. If you notice, only the talent rejoins and news opens at that time were from the camera mandate. Everything else was from their 1997 graphics package. But sometime later that year they completed the switchover.

  10. No surprise to see Leland getting a show, the "On Balance" immediately made me think of the "Fair & Balanced" branding his former employer used, not a big fan of the "Rush Hour" branding either. Anyone else wondering if Prime's days are numbered? and if so what would they do with Rob and Marni?
