  1. I'm not an Eyewitness News junkie. I'm a very casual ABC7 news viewer. To me, it is not important. It identifies WABC being an ABC station,. Mission accomplished,. Most viewers probably do not notice the bug to begin with.

  2. Likely just a Labor Day fill-in

  3. Maybe they didn't have anyone else to take the slot, and he volunteered to switch? Especially if Ken is working Monday morning. Lauren worked last night, but she posted on IG from Fire Island today.

  7. On the Eyewitness News Briefs, you can now spot 3 different ABC7 logos and 2 different websites in a matter of seconds.

  8. Today, Greg Suskin is signing off at WSOC-TV after 21 years working at the station.

  9. Yeah terrible, im sorry. I prefer the shiny more forward look that they had in the mid 2010s. This flat look is too bland and is a step backwards for me.

  10. Good because this new logo is a massive step backwards graphically. WABC in general has been the lesser of the big 3 stations graphics and studio wise, none the less they’re still on top!

  11. Dale Hansen signed off one final time on WFAA tonight. But the opening of tonight's 10pm got me. They reenacted the 'Taxi' promo he did when he left KDFW 4 for Channel 8 over 38 years ago. And they brought in longtime VO guy John B. Wells to drive the Taxi. Videos Courtesy of WFAA's YT page.

  12. Thankfully they dumped NY Live and went for a full hour of 11am news today.

  13. Local content is more lucrative than syndicated, and what's being shopped around for syndication isn't great.

  14. They may be trying to follow the KTLA route; Newscast pretty much 75% of the day.

  15. If he likes original NewsNation boss Jennifer Lyons, as she assembled the first team, I wouldn't rule him out of joining WBBM in Chicago, where she just took over. Ultimately, it depends on how deep of roots he planted here...in a year.

  16. Can y'all just stop! This happens every year when staff take vacation. They are entitled to vacation. And for many with years of experience and high compensation, they get a lot of it. When an anchor is missing they may be sick, may be on vacation or took a personal day for whatever reason. We don't need 20 posts speculating they are gone or whatever. It is too often on WABC, and as was mentioned it spilled over to WNBC as well. If someone leaves a station, you all find out anyhow. No need to speculate. Back to the topics.

  17. There's also no reason for you to postulate or extrapolate on what one person's question of a vacation to the assumption that they left the station. You did the same thing in the NBC thread about David Ushery, saying he left because you hadn't seen him for a few weeks on air nor on social media. Then he was back on air, after taking a vacation in August, gasp!

  18. Romney Smith has made her first appearance on TINY & News at 11AM. Jessica Cunnington from News 12 Bronx is now with NBC4. Her first report was yesterday.

  19. This is bad production 101. How can anyone working in market #1 see this and think it's a good look? If you don't want her standing on a box because you don't want to see the box, either give them stools or cover the desk. The height differential also gives off a power disparity with the man towering over the woman.

  21. It’s even dumber than having co-anchors at 6 and a solo anchor at 5.

  22. You're trying to find logic and taste from a management that after heavily promoting its new 7 p.m., in-depth, news cuts it back to 15 minutes on Fridays. And its missing 15 minutes is given over to the inane New York Live. And let's not forget the management that allowed Matt Brickman to dress as if he were a circus clown on an Olympic Zone appearance! UGH!!!!!!
