  1. I mean this is the same station that put someone like Sukanya Krishnan on air every AM for 15 years, I don’t trust them to pick talent wisely.

  2. Between images of WLS & WPVI, and a report of change at WTVD, it appears that the network mandate forced the O&O's to change the logos in network promos in time for tonight's new season. I haven't seen anything from non-owned stations.

  4. Yeah I've been seeing a ton of comments asking for Betty; however I do agree that although they worked well- they were not the next Rosanna or Greg haha. They definitely seem to want Dan to be the face of the station (now doing the politics show Sunday AM in addition to main AM anchor)- and I think he's deserved it after his reporting days and he can balance hard news/fun segments well. Betty I think is more of a hard news anchor since her background was CNN/early Today so putting her on a lighter fare show like Pix11 morning news was an experiment. She did try her best, but I think she'll do well in the early AM with John Muller with harder news segments. I also think Hazel is another complete experiment- she's great and credible with hard news; but I don't think we've gotten to see Hazel in action with lighter/more laid back segments over at WCBS... it seems that her and Dan were good friends before, so maybe they're counting on that? Vanessa I feel did well with Dan whenever she filled in, same with Kirstin. Perhaps the answer has been right in front of them.. put Marysol Castro back in the anchor chair! Haha I loved watching her and Dan do the 4-6 show back in the day; they definitely have real chemistry. Either way if Hazel doesn't work out with Dan, I could see them switching her and Tamsen in time perhaps...

  5. Phil Blauer will be her co-anchor. Wow, that's a long evening block of news. Now 4p-8p.

  6. I often feel bad for late night news when the NFL broadcast pushes the news into the next morning but who is going to complain about extra football especially if it’s a particularly good game (as one might be if it’s ending an hour late)?

  7. Dan Mannarino is replying to people on Twitter that Betty will be on the early morning news tomorrow, so I guess she was just off today.

  8. 'Today' (1982). Loving how sped up the format is at this point compared to the Brokaw & Walters years. Not too slow and not the ADHD level pacing of today. It also seems that they were frequently experimenting with sets. I've seen the blue version of this current set before but wasn't aware there was a brown variation as well. The sets from the late 70s up until the O.G. studio 1a (which was awesome) were all very well done.

  9. Really enjoyed the look back at the show's various incarnations if only briefly. More than that, I enjoyed the hell out of today's show (I usually do). Why can't the weekday show be like Saturday?

  11. Nah, the 20/20 bugs have been inconsistent for years. The new logo certainly should've given them the opportunity to fix this, but it's no fault of the rebrand team.

  12. I knew Tegna was going to drop the "Local" branding. But do the logo needs to look like WVEC with that slant on the end?.....

  13. Any bets on when there might be replacement anchors for Lori and Kerry? Any guesses on who? Lori has been night side for about 3 months and Kerry has been gone for a month. Just seems like a lot on Bianca to be doing every day from 4:30-10. And obviously just being short staffed for all in general.

  14. So what happens to Betty? i guess that is to be discussed in the other thread.

  15. Fair enough. My family has watched GMA for as long as I can remember and the quality today is nothing to write home about despite having one of the strongest anchors (George!) at the helm. However I have to say comparing anything with Gayle King to the great days of Jane and Bryant is an insult! /s

  16. I mean, it's very clear that the stylistic moves are to emulate their higher-rated competitors, which deserves a little ribbing, but it generally still is the better program.
