  1. WSB Television and Atlanta Television will never be the same without Jovita Moore. Prayers and condolences go out to her family and her extended family at Channel 2 Action News. And Jovita... Atlanta TV will never forget you. You will NEVER be forgotten. And say hello to Amanda Davis from all of us here. RIP Jovita and Godspeed.

  2. A big loss for Metro Atlanta. Jovita took the torch from the legendary Monica Pearson and carried it well. I am a saddened at her passing, yet she is in a better place. My condolences to her family and the Channel 2 family. SN: Justin Farmer was a trooper in announcing her death. You could tell at times it was getting to him.

  3. You'd think they'd have the oversight not to do forecasts for college football games that were played one week ago. They aired this graphic twice this morning.

  4. Agreed! CBS has the best reporting of the big 3 as evidenced by 60 Minutes, CBS Mornings and CBS Sunday Morning. They just need better on air presentation (graphics wise) and a strong lead anchor. As for CBS primetime, it's number one in my assessment because it has shows like SWAT, NCIS and FBI that an older somewhat conservative audience can still enjoy. CBS primetime doesn't take risks. They stick to a formula that works for them: crime/law dramas and sitcoms.

  5. I agree. Katie Couric alluded to this the other night on the Late Show. Diane became World News Anchors 3 years later and did fine. Although it was in a solid 2nd place when she got there, it stayed there. But Diane also did not have the Perky label like Katie. DI would argue Katie is better then David. I owner if she has joined 10 years alter and went up against David if maybe she would have done better rating's wise? I Want to add that viewing habits are hard to change. And then there 24/7 Cable News (and Social Media), which has became more in recant years then ever. NBC and ABC ratings have dropped as well. Yes. The transition form Brokaw to Williams in 2004, (nd I might Couric to Vieira on TODAY in 2006 in which NBC went outside the network and took her away form ABC), was almost ridiculous because of how smooth sailing those transitions were. Those shows stayed in their first place spot. Very seamless. unfortunate some NBC more recent transients have gone over as well.

  6. You got it. 'Masthead' is what newspapers call their logo on the top of the front page. Banner well that seems like something you'd hang high up. I think Roone Arledge, who started the practice when he overhauled ABC NEWS, had some name for them - maybe it was banner or signage or something. I'm guessing in the KPIX case they saw KTVU had a plain beige masthead banner and used a world map for the center backdrop and was climbing in the ratings, so figured why not try that. Their prior masthead banner was an ABC NEWS knockoff with the black background.

  7. The "Metromedia News at Ten" moniker is interesting. This is from just after the time when they flirted with starting up a national newscast which would have competed with INN, and I wonder if that is a legacy of the failed attempt.

  8. Please no. At least not every CBS affiliate. Major and Large markets sure... But please don't let the small markets into this mess.

  9. Savannah for as nice as she seems is just one of the weaker anchors in the show’s storied history imo.

  13. Lori Stokes will be out for an extended period of time as she spends her last days with her mother. Thoughts go out to Lori and her family. Mike Woods also announced this morning he will be out for 3 weeks due to back surgery. We’re down to three anchors - one for each regular show, Bianca, Rosanna and Steve. Lots of OT going.
