  1. It's not a "waste of space" if you own it.

  2. Run that in °C, and now you can have the same hourly temperatures for 10 months! Anyways, to keep this thread on topic, Gray Television's WTVG (a former O&O no less) has switched, but only the bug has the new logo. The opens have not been modified yet unlike KOTA (who also has the new logo).

  3. Gotta love the meteorologist in the Hawaiian shirt and the consistency of that forecast.

  4. I rotate between WDAY and VNL reasonably regularly. Don't worry.

  5. That's not on Gray or CBS, but rather the station's fault for still having that promo in their systems when they were supposed to delete it long ago. KVLY is an NBC affiliate. Perhaps you were talking about KXJB-LD?

  6. There's no limit in terms of how many HD channels you have. There are some that carry three HD streams (some are Gray stations, i.e. KCRG). As long as the stations don't go over the bandwidth limit of 19.4MB for ATSC 1 signals. Not sure what the limit is on ATSC 3 signals.

  7. Ocala is technically in the Orlando market, but close enough that they'd be interested in a WCJB signal there. I'd think one of the Gainesville signals would be to pool up affiliations (maybe give its CW affiliation a full HD signal as a separate channel).

  9. Don‘t you realize it was recorded 10 years ago - they just re-run the same set each week… (LA and San Diego are the same way, too…) J

  10. WZTV Fox News at Nine (October 15, 1997) And now, a full newscast of WCPO's Al Schottelkotte News at 11. (December 22, 1981) KCBS Channel 2 News Weekend (December 15, 1984)

  11. LONG promo for KUSA Denver back in 1985. This was after the call letter change from KBTV to KUSA in 1984, while channel 9 was STILL an ABC affiliate (now an NBC affiliate since September 1995). I noticed the same visuals were used in another KUSA promo, which had the song God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood.

  12. The schedule always gets messed up everywhere around the holidays. I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

  13. Enforcer has seen several iterations of updates. Stations can use anything they want, composed from 1994 to 2020. However, stations typically use a mix of themes which can make the branding sound inconsistent. CBS Local was composed on the cheap. Stations are becoming less willing to pay for high quality music. So you get a lot of rushed, almost ubiquitous sounding packages that don't set the station apart from any other in the market. ABC has the edge because they invest more in station resources.

  14. Yes, yes, because THAT'S the stations' problems. Not the decades of mismanagement, budget cuts, and subsequent poor ratings. Really, most here need to get a grip. I don't want to say that CBS Local is a downgrade from modern Enforcer (though I think it is), but it DEFINITELY wouldn't be some magical problem-solver, either. More than just about any cosmetic adjustment we've ever discussed here, such a theme change across the board might be the most unnoticeable of all time, to the average viewer. Hell, I have no problem saying that neither Gari nor Stephen Arnold have produced the best adaptations of the WBBM signature. They just happened to be the powerhouse music companies of their eras, therefore most accessible for the average client.

  15. That looks so generic that if feels like a 12 year-old Logopedia contributor made it for one of those fake TV station wikis in honor of the TV station serving their SimCity. Alas...it is real.

  17. It's very clear to me the problem isn't Norah; it's the nature of the evening news and CBS's position in it. They're always going to be third place no matter who they put in that chair.
