  2. So follow up. Weigel has now completed the WJLP deal, as of today (1/7).

  3. A 10 p.m. WBBM open from November 1994, the tail end of the station's red-white-and-black tabloid era:

  4. Oddly enough, WAVE competitor WHAS used a similiar logo for years, until the end of the Belo era when the "11" was taken out of the circle. If Tegna ever rebooted one of their old logos, this one might look good on them now.

  5. WAVE fixed up its own in-house take on LIM4.1. They don't like Gray's "corporate graphics", a hodgepodge of garbage looks here and there, replaced frequently. New look?

  6. Rather Breaking News in Alaska.... https://www.ktva.com/story/42439484/gci-sells-ktva-to-gray-television GCI sold its CBS programming to Gray and Gray immediately moved the CBS affiliation to their already owned Channel 5 to create CBS 5 Anchorage. Note to point out that Gray already owns NBC station KTUU. https://www.ktuu.com/2020/07/31/ktuu-expands-into-southeast-alaska-and-kyes-launches-cbs5-anchorage/ Gray also bought the CBS Southeast Alaska stations and NBC Southeast Stations from GCI as well. Quote from the Gray produced article. "Through these separate agreements, KTVA’s local news operation will be preserved and enhanced under the stewardship of a pure-play broadcaster that owns leading local news operations in over 90 markets across the country, from Fairbanks, Alaska, to West Palm Beach, Florida." This also means that (from what I can tell) Gray now owns all NBC and CBS in the Alaska.

  8. The Press radio stations, Newsmax and NTD/Falun Gong were dropped at the start of the year already (Newsmax would've been gone no matter what because of their rise on cable and just stopping that free carriage model). Scripps networks should be going pretty soon since WPXN and WFTY already carry them, and the Get After It/Luken trash will be gone ASAP. As for WZME still carrying Sonlife, that org loves to get long-term deals so it's going to be awhile before that's gone (and Weigel seems to be okay with other networks as long as they don't compete in their own spaces. I do assume though that Wiegel will honor their existing deals with WCBS and Fox in the market in full, like they've done in Denver.

  9. If it's still on the air, maybe they'll drop it at midnight.

  10. Mission is such a sham. Everything about the station is Deathstar except the ownership papers on file. I assume their “agreement “ with Mission includes retransmission rights. The notice is at the top of the website. Yet it’s still on the air

  11. Isn't PIX11 owned by Mission Broadcasting? They shouldn't be affected.

  12. Actually it’s all of Altice USA. There is a notice on PIX11 website. There has been no notification however from Optimum.

  14. Maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't be taking the word of the guy that doesn't appear to have anything to do with 6abc, and who is trying to walk back his unfounded statement. Just a thought.

  19. As for WDKY, the rebrand took place as scheduled. New Nexstar website as well. IMO, the new logo reminds me of KGO-TV. I'm not aware of any airchecks yet, so I don't know if the ticker was removed (Good for them if they did!).
