  1. Yeah, I know it's not 2006, anymore, but this idea of aggressively reassessing their streetside position is a little weird, to me. Two troublemakers in 18 years, a 17-year between incidents, and only 1 of them happening in an "anti-media" era. That's a great track record, considering some of the crazy crap that's happened outside of the Today Show, in a similar span of time. Cost and maintenance might be what sends them to another studio, but unless there are more incidents soon, I don't think safety will be the motivator.

  2. The glass did its job as it was designed to do; it's supposed to remain intact and not shatter as bulletproof glass, so that's all you can really ask out of a strong pane of glass like that. I've been past the studio many times and it really is protected with thick glass that absorbs most collision impact as it did in 2007 (not that I've tested it out myself). The other thing though is that it was totally a punk suburban kid here just being a stupid little brat, so this wasn't what you'd expect at all in downtown Chicago. For the most part criminals definitely steer clear of that block of State Street just by virtue of WLS being there with multiple skycams and multiple angles; you'd be an absolute idiot to commit a crime there. And for the most part when WGN Radio and WMAQ had their own streetside studios the worst you got was the occasional drunk who might provide some midnight color commentary. I'm sure ABC and CBS regularly have security checks to make sure everything is secured and proper, so I'm not worried about anything horrible happening out there outside of copycats.

  3. Nice. I Prefer the previous set but this is good. The View is great at working flexible video walls in with permanent set pieces. More TV programs need to get learn this--- a barren space with massive screens isn't good design. GMA needs to consult The View folks on set building. Same with Today!

  4. Wishing her all best. Living in fear that an awful disease is just going to keep rearing its head in your life again is nothing anyone should have to deal with.

  5. Studio 32 is or was the studio upstairs at the WFLD offices & studios that faces towards Michigan Ave & Lake Street. Became the title during Covid.

  6. The trouble with some media columnists, analyst, etc... (as of late) is that they tend to be just as bias as those they accuse of showing biases. Personally, I didn't care much for Darcy (who at one point blamed Licht for CNN's ratings woes months AFTER he was gone). And I agree Shelter can be a lot. Hopefully he stays 'grounded' and sticks to the newsletter and limited on-air appearances.

  8. I really love this set. It's big and open like the early 18th season set, yet as inviting and personable and as warm as-- no, make that warmer than the set of mid-18th season onward. And it's definitely giving Midtown loft like the sets of the single-digit seasons. I so can't wait to go to a taping now.

  9. Compared to the People images, they've amped up the warm tones, for air. I really like it.

  10. Keep your eyes peeled on WHEC-TV Rochester. There could be a new look coming to them shortly. No, its not on the air yet, but they have already debuted a new logo that appears online. Its their first new logo in 20 years.

  13. Here's how Houston's syndicated offerings will look like starting September 9: KPRC (NBC): Other than the station recently picking up "The Drew Barrymore Show" at 10am in the daytime and 2am in the overnight, no further changes. KHOU (CBS): "Dateline" replaces "Daily Blast Live" at 3pm, with more paid programming replacing one of DBL's half-hour repeats following "After Midnight". KTRK (ABC): No changes KTXH (MNTV): This is where "GMFB: Overtime" will be airing on, at 11am in the midday hours. "48 Hours" moves up an hour later, at 12pm. "Mathis Court" is added to the station's court show block, at 3pm, followed by "True Crime News" at 3:30pm. Channel 20's game show block gets even larger with the station picking up "Person, Place or Thing" in between two airings of "People Puzzler", followed by "25 Words or Less" at 5:30pm, "Pictionary" at 6pm, and the new game show "Flip Side" at 6:30pm. As compensation, the airings of Steve Harvey's "Family Feud" are cut down to 2 hours, from 7-9pm. Strangely, "Dateline" remains on 20, even with Channel 11 picking it up as well, moving to 9pm. "Extra", "Dish Nation", "TMZ", and "Access Hollywood" will make up the station's night-time newsmagazine block from 10pm-12am. More runs of 25WOL and "Divorce Court" replace the Fox Soul show "Portia" at 2am and 2:30am respectively, while a repeat of "True Crime News" will air at 3am, replacing "People Puzzler". KRIV (Fox): A new local talk show entitled "Chattin' with Chelsea", hosted by Chelsea Edwards, has already debuted on Fox 26, replacing "Extra" in the 12:30pm timeslot. The Xploration E/I shows start airing at 1pm on September 9, although I'm not sure if this move is permanent or temporary. A political debate show called "Battleground" has been airing after the station's 6pm news as of this writing, I'll give you information on what will replace it once the election passes by. In the 12am timeslot is a "Chattin' with Chelsea" rerun and "Fox Soul Faceoff", while a rerun of "The Jennifer Hudson Show" has already moved up to 1am as of this writing, and "Family Feud" and "Person, Place or Thing" make up the 2am overnight timeslot. KIAH (The CW): Other than the station moving their daytime talk show block 2 hours earlier (which I already mentioned in this thread), there are many other changes. "The People's Court" reruns move to 1pm, followed by a double-run of "Hot Bench" at 2pm and a double-run of "Judy Justice" at 3pm. "Bob Hearts Abishola" will air at 5pm in the station's late-afternoon sitcom block, alongside "The Neighborhood", "Young Sheldon", and "The Big Bang Theory". "Modern Family", which had aired on both of the Fox-owned stations in the Space City ever since the show was first sold to local syndication in 2013, moves to 39, airing a double-run at 11:00pm. "The Connors" replaces one of "The Goldbergs" reruns at 2:30am, followed by another run of "Young Sheldon" at 3am and "Friends" at 3:30am.

  14. By 2009, Rob Johnson was anchoring evenings solo, and ratings were rising. That fall, Bill was brought in to shoot some promos and feature some of his cold case investigations. At some point, Walter returned to do his commentaries. In November '09, Rob was off, and the station heavily promoted a one night only reunion of the legends on the 10pm news. It was well-received, and they were installed as 6pm co-anchors by September of 2010. Once their contracts ran out in (I think) February '13, they were "retired." Given a full farewell, but it wasn't really their choice.
