  1. Sade did a great job. (Funny to see from that 9 minute clip reel, though, how little the anchors are really doing over the course of the two hour show. Definitely not Charlie and Diane's GMA -- but that's nothing new.) It's certainly no coincidence that a WABC anchor was tapped to fill in on GMA -- where plenty of network correspondents would be happy for a chance to fill in -- after Debra O'Connell took over ABC News.

  2. Have you noticed that WNBC is reverting their current slogan back to the original slogan "We're for New York" as seen in a new promo? Exactly 8 years since they use that slogan, which is combining it with the word "Together" to form "Together, Were for New York" since August 2016.

  3. Nice, it would be cool if they brought back the jingle in a non-corny way. Would also be cool if the New York type face below the 4 was cursive again

  4. I agree 100%. All they really needed to do with the other one was change the font from DIN to Proxima and it still would've looked nice... And the new L3's are busy and exciting vs. the new Weather Impact boring white box on the U3... No cohesion

  5. The new graphics are too big and distracting. They occupy too much of the lower third of the screen. I liked that the previous graphics were minimalistic and not too huge. I think these were Tegna's best graphics, minus the distracting upcoming headlines bar below. It was dark, slightly translucent, and compact.

  7. Yeah, I know it's not 2006, anymore, but this idea of aggressively reassessing their streetside position is a little weird, to me. Two troublemakers in 18 years, a 17-year between incidents, and only 1 of them happening in an "anti-media" era. That's a great track record, considering some of the crazy crap that's happened outside of the Today Show, in a similar span of time. Cost and maintenance might be what sends them to another studio, but unless there are more incidents soon, I don't think safety will be the motivator.

  8. The glass did its job as it was designed to do; it's supposed to remain intact and not shatter as bulletproof glass, so that's all you can really ask out of a strong pane of glass like that. I've been past the studio many times and it really is protected with thick glass that absorbs most collision impact as it did in 2007 (not that I've tested it out myself). The other thing though is that it was totally a punk suburban kid here just being a stupid little brat, so this wasn't what you'd expect at all in downtown Chicago. For the most part criminals definitely steer clear of that block of State Street just by virtue of WLS being there with multiple skycams and multiple angles; you'd be an absolute idiot to commit a crime there. And for the most part when WGN Radio and WMAQ had their own streetside studios the worst you got was the occasional drunk who might provide some midnight color commentary. I'm sure ABC and CBS regularly have security checks to make sure everything is secured and proper, so I'm not worried about anything horrible happening out there outside of copycats.

  10. Scrippscast has arrived at WTVR Richmond. Its Noon and 7:30pm newscasts are its first casualties and just by watching this, you can see why this kind of format is no good.
