  2. On April 28th, TBD will be rebranded as Roar: https://sbgi.net/tbd-tv-network-to-rebrand-as-roar/ As in the comedy that makes up that network these days and not Katy Perry.

  3. He’s great. I love him too. He should be on the main CNN instead of Kasie Hunt. Something different to the non stop politics.

  5. CBS News now feeling more confident in its new Evening News product, that it tweeted that it is up in the demos for the second week in a row. https://x.com/CBSNewsPress/status/1897076513079746785?t=S-HzVE0mQHaKxzrx05-2IQ&s=19

  6. Over time, I’d suggest formats have become more mailable within their brands. WPVI’s tempo and constructs vary from morning to midday to afternoon to the 6/11. The differences were more stark in the past, and while not suggesting everything has disappeared, there has been a lot of blurring to adapt to audiences under the big brand umbrella. At this point, no one is sitting in a newsroom saying that they can’t adopt a given tactic because that isn’t what Eyewitness News was at the start; it’s a question of how something works for today’s viewers. Successful brands evolve with the audience.

  8. It might help to note that WPVI's Action News is actually a format of its own. Which fewer stations use compared to WABC's approach. So WPVI's presentation is aligned with their format. The "Action News" format differs slightly from the "Eyewitness News" format. In the Action News, certain dynamics such as time requirements, storytelling, etc, have to be followed, reporters don't dwell too much on the stories, to keep the news going and be able to cover more stories, so you'll probably here less fill in talk and more direct storytelling, whereas with the Eyewitness News format, there is more of a deeper dive which allows for more captivating presentations, fill in words, empathy, "happy talk" etc to be embedded within the show. Whereas with the Action News it's more straight to the point and quick which could be better for some audiences. 11. Another YAWN talking head political show. The interview she gave TVNEWSER she tried to explain what makes her talking head panel show different from the 50 other talking head panel show. "You get the full picture, both sides, blah blah blah." PASS.

  14. Here's you're look at "The Arena's" graphics minutes into the premiere. Did not get the title card so I'll add the promo card instead. Very flat, funky, and use of gradients. Also, during the teaser Hunt was walking around, and the walls displayed similarly funky and "out there" pictures of the founding fathers, Lincoln, etc. The (morning) Situation Room kept the graphics and added Pamela Brown's name to the logo, very ugly though, I'll add.

  16. I hate this. This and the virtual extensions of the Atlanta set just give cheap vibes. This is not the CNN of yester-year. The money and the personnel are gone and they are trying to do what they used to do. They are trying to make Atlanta "HQ" feel "big" like CNN Center used to. And it just doesnt. Its done. Why not do realistic VR instead of this ridiculous OTT VR? It just looks stupid. Sadly FNC is the popular "Kool-Aid" channel. They have given viewers the ammo to fuel their views and that outrage brings in viewers. Not much you can do to compete with that. I cant see CNN ever coming back to popularity. They will be forever chasing viewers. FNC is a outrage commentary channel. CNN feels sadly like a directionless lost cause.

  19. Lee Goldberg did the last 5pm weather hit and first 6pm weather hit from the roof. It was a pretty cool shot with the World Trade Center in the background and the sunset. He also mentioned many more angles up there and more live shots to come. Should be pretty cool

  20. Not a bad choice considering they usually put out very good quality sets. WABC's new digs remind me of the recent NBC Nightly News set in a way just before they moved everything to Studio 1A (right down to the floating 7 in the ceiling).

  21. Yeah. Same thing with WCJB. Some bumpers, IDs, and promos with GrayONE but nothing more. It has been more than a month too that WCJB has had them but as always, implementation takes time, whether its weeks or even months.

  22. Yes many Gray stations will usually start integrating GrayOne with the weather intros and updated logos... Update is iminent, but could be 1 week, could be another month.. WNEM was using GrayOne Weather Intros for well over a month before switching over...

  23. I noticed that WBKO has started incorporating GrayOne into their weather graphics and station IDs, though it hasn’t debuted yet. I made a video and took a screenshot to document the changes. Looks like an update is coming soon! Has anyone else noticed this at other Gray stations? Screen_Recording_20250208_195324_Samsung Internet.mp4
