  1. I wouldn't say "lazily". Strategic might be a better descriptor. Here in Minnesota (for when WCCO uses the CBSMN branding), greater MN is simply different Minneapolis/St. Paul- the communities are different, the politics are different, the people are different, and 'CCO has KCCW in the northern part of the state that serves a great deal of viewers OTA who are 3-4 hours from Minneapolis; and for what it's worth also does a decent job in balancing the stories and wx between the metro and Greater MN. That made "Minnesota" smarter for them to use than Minneapolis-St. Paul in this case. Even the major newspaper, the Star Tribune, just rebranded late last year as "The Minnesota Star Tribune" (and it's the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Wild... The list goes on). Then you have the O&O's in the markets that LOVE their city and much of the region revolves around what's happening in said city- Philly, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore instantly popped into my head as examples for that.

  2. Swapping to a teal color for the brand was a choice. I’m surprised they paid to license the CBS brand music too. It’s a nice improvement that is sure to rocket them out of their distant fourth place spot. It’s just too bad they couldn’t do their own look, one of the few small companies left without a corporate style.

  3. Canada Because Citytv is making a brand new move, Breakfast Television is also making a brand new everything. A new studio, new music?, a somewhat new look, and new presenters: Tim Bolen and a return to Dina Pugliese after a two year hiatus.

  4. This would have been an amazing opportunity to drop the 58 and run with CBS Milwaukee (which they tried to do many years ago until a disgruntled employee bought the domain name at the last minute.) That number is just going to hold them back. It makes them seem small and unimportant.

  5. This is a much better rebrand for the CBS O&Os compared to what they have currently.

  6. 100 Days To Indy moves from The CW to FOX Nation for season 3, since FOX has the Indy Car rights makes sense they get the doc 100 Days To Indy.

  7. Looks like WDJT is going to move from the old CBS O&O look to the new one tomorrow at noon. I think this makes them the second non-O&O to adapt this look, right?

  8. Now that you mentioned it, it makes sense when you see the logos after Regis retired. The newer the host, the smaller the "Live".

  9. Don't care what anyone says, or how good they try to make it. Full VR sets are really lame.

  10. No wonder you need a microscope to see Live! On their logo.

  11. I guess Im in the minority. I hate everything about ABC News. Its like they are broadcasting from a darkened cave. I hate the lighting, when there is some its harsh and the talent is shadowy and the graphics are dark so it feels sinister. The sound is always echo-ey and the use of the metal on the set, such as around the screens and desk, always has hotspots. Everything is badly designed. I feel since they were moving to a new space they could have experimented. They didnt even get new graphics but recreated their old ones. But since audiences for network news is drying up...this exemplifies they are truly scare of losing more of their audience. I was hoping we would see something different. But to to rebuild the same thing. Yawn. I was suprised ABC News Live got new graphics. I like the channel, but sometimes I find the streaming channels dont always carry live events. NBC News Now is a big culprit. ABC is OK. CBS News is a bit hit or miss. I have to say Im not impressed with any of the big 3 network news sets. NBC gave up and retreated to the Today set and CBS is just screens and ABC went deeper into their news cave.

  14. The TWC forecast on WEVV doesn’t even have Evansville in the right county. They moved Evansville from Vanderburgh Co. to Spencer Co. These two counties don’t even border each other. Not surprised.
