  1. According to our UK counterparts on Pres Cafe, this picture of the studio was heavily sepia-toned.

  2. So with GMA moving, is it correct ABC7 will have shows produced from 7 Hudson Square from 4am until 7pm (besides for the hour General Hospital at 3pm)?

  3. 45min well spent. Former KNBC Orange County Bureau Chief Vikki Vargas speaks about her time at the station and how the industry has changed.

  4. And the interesting thing is, the ABC News channel was HD from its launch in 2010 until ABC TV HD relaunched in 2016.

  5. The end of an era at WAGA FOX5 Atlanta. The I-Team is no more after 48 years. Dana Fowle and Johnny Edwards have been let go. [story is paywalled at the AJC, but you can read the first couple of sentences for free] https://www.ajc.com/arts-entertainment/2025/06/like-a-death-in-the-family-fox-5-atlanta-eliminates-i-team-after-48-years/

  6. Also stunned because investigative reports were one of the more heavily promoted segments on Fox 5 News. Unfortunately it seems Scripps and Tegna like cuts are creeping their way into FOX. First the elimination of sports on Fox 26, now the I Team on FOX 5 ATL is gone, what's next? Hopefully that happens, and hopefully post-employment noncompete clauses do not apply. The fact that a company can still control where you work after laying you off is criminal. I've always liked FOX O&Os for being creative with original content to film hours of airtime. WTXF's Roast of Mike Jerrick on Fox Local, the Isiah Factor on KRIV and Fox News Edge on WOFL are a few examples.

  7. As long as the journalists don’t have a non-compete or can be let out it, I’m sure one of the stations will soon.

  8. I am shocked. I've always thought of WAGA's, WJW's, and KXAN's teams as the pillar of investigative journalism today. To think WAGA shut theirs down will create a chilling effect across Atlanta. WSB and WANF might scoop them up if they wanted to.

  9. I'm shocked. This is the beginning of FOX trying to cut costs by eliminating things that not only support the community but also give the station creditability. Hope the team finds work soon.

  10. I'm split on this because as an objective journalist you can't rant personal political opinions on social media. This would be less consequential if it were an MSNBC or Fox commentator. That being said, it's tough not to rant. Trump is unique in that we've never seen a president and his administration blatantly lie, bully journalists, threaten democracy and form a cult of perosnality to this degree. How can journalists tow the line of calling this out while staying objective in reporting and minimizing personal biases? It's hard! Doing what Moran did however serves no one. Losing your job to rant against Trump, Miller, or anyone else in the administration on social media isn't worth it when there are thousands of opinion commentators who can do that for you. I think this warranted a conversation and a social media break not a firing however. It's a shame because Moran was very good. His political analysis always did tow the line of commentary however, so it's not surprising to see him take it a step further on social media.

  11. Four anchors, though realistically it’s seldom even three as it is, for one hour seems needless.

  12. Hear me out. KVVU no longer has one sports-related channel... now they have TWO. One is the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network, but now they've recently launched 5DRVtv (5 Drive TV). Outside of Local News LIVE from 4-6 am, 11 am-12 pm, and 4-5 pm (7-9 am, 2-3 pm, and 7-8 pm ET; which seem to be the main newscast timeslots for that streaming network), the schedule is devoted to all things cars and motorsports with programs such as Moto America, Race Central TV, Music City Trucks, Detroit Muscle, PowerNation Builds, etc. Some of these programs are also seen on SSSEN, but that's more aimed towards general sports, whereas 5DRVtv (KVVU-DT 5.4 by the way, which replaced Dabl) is focused on cars and motorsports. This may be the first such local digital subchannel I've heard of. EDIT: Another thing... Despite Gray not having a Telemundo presence in Las Vegas (because you have O&O KBLR Channel 39), KVVU went ahead and launched Spanish-language news and weather content anyway with Vegas Hoy. https://www.vegashoy.tv/

  14. In case you needed an updated exaggerated and catty Post update on the Michael Strahan/Kelly Ripa 'feud' with GMA's upcoming move to Iger, here you go. Oooh, they have to share an elevator and they might see each other, this is the most oppressive workplace outside the Kremlin .

  15. Hearst's KSBW (Salinas, California) is boasting about being number one in the ratings, but if this is a W -- as the kids say -- it's a lowercase W. You can read the station's press release here, but let's get beyond the usual spin and look at the actual numbers cited. For reference, Nielsen counts 230,950 households in the Monterey/Salinas market, and parenthesis represents the total share of the entire market...not just people who happen to be watching TV news. 12 pm: 6,100 households (.02%) 5 pm: 15,100 households (.06%) 6 pm: 17,500 households (.07%) 11 pm: 8,500 households (.03%) Saturday AM: 8,500 households (.03%) Sunday AM: 7,900 households (.03%) Saturday & Sunday PM: 13,400 households (.05%) A win is a win I suppose, but wow, not even one out of ten households in the market bother to watch the top-rated TV news station.

  16. Atlanta Fox O&O WAGA eliminated its investigative reporting team after nearly 50 years. Yes, we're talking nearly 50 YEARS of existence, which predates WAGA's flip to Fox.
