  1. Despite both Mornings and the EN’s ratings struggles, there’s too much money at stake for the network to cede 7-9am and 6:30/5:30p to the stations.

  2. A new logo for KTUU.. based off of WBTV. It hasn't appeared on-air yet but is shown on their weather stream and a new look for the Alaska's News Source brand. Wouldn't be surprised if they are next in line.

  3. Not surprised about Weiss pushing out Patta. Patta's reporting shed a big light on the crimes committed by Bibi's government against Gazans.

  4. Josh Einiger, unfortunately, is leaving WABC.

  5. DuBois strikes me as someone who knows/knew the risk(s) involved when taking on a network gig. Evening News was always going to be a challenge and he couldn't go into it half-heartedly (i.e... keeping one foot at WCBS and the other at CBS). A solid case can be made to give him time to right the ship. I hope he fights to stay at Evening News.

  6. I'm going to hazard a guess that the specific people who used to run those networks are no longer Scripps employees.

  7. Or cancel the CBS Evening News at this point. Be like FOX. No late night show, no Evening News (and eventually) no morning show. Let the affiliates (not that they're strong) have all that time. Unless it costs them extra to do longform, they might as well keep the current format. When they copied the competition under Norah, they were still in third. Despite my initial hesitation with the format changes, CBS actually surprised me with their best reformat yet since the Schiffer era. It seems however they weren't confident in their new product as they walked back some of their formatting from early on.

  9. Not to be a smartass, but considering the same first name and nothing on Rick Gevers' ND newsletter about KMGH over the last few months, solid chance same person, different last name due to a change in marriage status.

  10. Initial caps from The Story Is. The show has a long intro and nice upbeat theme. So far it feels like a CNNI production, which is good. The set is simple with large vertical monitors on 3 sides showing the LA skyline and colorful tiles as a backdrop. The desk appears to be one of the old CNN+ desks from New York. The show uses a bespoke version of the “developing”, “exclusive”, and “weather” stings often seen on CNNI. Overall a strong start. Will see if Elex features Headlines at the bottom of the hour and if he mentions the CNNI opt out for World Sport at 1:45am ET.

  11. That music just doesn’t work. It look good but the sound is dreary.

  12. Good God. I hope this doesn't go through. I hate Tegna with a passion but I'm not interested in Nexstar controlling most of the country's stations

  13. Trying to keep a running tally of people falling victim to Skydance's axe today -- the first in two rounds, apparently. Here's what I've heard so far: WJZ: Morning anchor Sina Gebre-Ab Chief met Derek Beasley KDKA: Features reporter Katie O'Malley "Talk Pittsburgh" host Kelly Dzanaj Executive producer and community affairs host Lisa Smith

  14. CBS News under Bari Weiss eyes a major shakeup of 60 Minutes, and many of these anchors will be axed, potentially including Scott Pelley and Bill Whitaker. Weiss complained that the program "has drifted far to the left" (NY Post Exclusive). https://nypost.com/2025/10/27/media/cbs-news-boss-bari-weiss-eyes-major-shakeup-at-60-minutes-sources/
