  1. This is not something you'd typically find on this forum but I thought its worth mentioning, nonetheless. QVC has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. It will stay on the air and continue operations while trying to restructure their massive $5.8 billion debt. They're hoping to get out of it within 90 days or by July 2026, whichever comes first. However, if it fails, QVC could end up going off air after 40 years on television and in the shopping business (first went on air November 24th, 1986). QVC2, QVC3, and QVC NOW would also force to go off air (yes, they have three spinoff channels). This also opens up the question as to what happens to HSN (and to a lesser extent, HSN2), their sister property (which went on air first before QVC on September 20th, 1982 in Pinellas County (home to St. Petersburg), Florida before going national on July 1st, 1985). https://www.audacy.com/kywnewsradio/news/local/qvc-bankruptcy

  2. Incorrect. John worked at WNBC prior to joining WPIX the first time. Craig worked at WNYW prior to joining WPIX. Regardless, what makes you think Nexstar cares about legacy anchors? Take a look at what’s happening at their stations across the nation.

  3. It's 2026. How are home shopping channels (on cable or otherwise) even a thing anymore?

  4. The network is thinking about reentering late night at a lower budget after Comics Unleashed's 1-season deal is up: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/cbs-developing-other-ideas-late-night-after-colbert-byron-allen-time-buy-1236565430/

  5. I just thought about this thread after seeing that! It was close enough for a while, but now it's not even close to 57 degrees. It's 90 at the airport right now. I wonder if they'll finally notice it now that it's wildly incorrect. I also remember the bug going up to and over 100 degrees. Even though the last time we actually hit 100 degrees (other than last year) was back in 2012.

  6. 91 degrees outside today (4/16), but still 57 degrees on CBS3. I remember before they switched to "CBS Philadelphia" news, the weather bug was off often. If it was 90-95 outside, it was 101 on the bug.

  7. Pretty sure John and Craig were both there for at least 20 years to consider them legacy status. That legacy status didn’t help them keep their job.

  8. I hate to bring up a year old threat but I have to because it looks like CBS Daytime is not changing anytime soon. Beyond The Gates is getting another two seasons on our TV sets. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/beyond-the-gates-renewed-through-season-4-cbs-1236565594/

  9. Did I miss something? When & why did this thread become a catch-all for Nexstar graphics changes, or worse, VO downgrades that we know ALL stations are executing?

  10. WPIX used to be a great station sometimes I’d watch them over FOX. I think when those changes happened in 2010 with that news director it sent everything crashing down for that station, after they rid Kaity and Jim they never really recovered from those changes. This era they currently had was some stability for the first time since.

  11. Another hour of weekday news on WUPA starting next Monday as the progression of its news expansion (just like WWJ) continues. CBS News Atlanta at 5:00 will soon come your way with Sharon Lawson (who already does the 6:00 and 11:00pm). https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/wupa-expands-local-news-programming-with-launch-of-5pm-weekday-newscast/

  12. God I'm old. I remember working with Anthony at a Shaw's grocery store in northern CT 25 years ago. The Nexstar situation sucks but I'm sure he and Kala will land on their feet.

  13. KMAX needs an overhaul, their Good Day Sacramento set is almost 20 years old. At least update the desk or refresh the loft look at least.
