1. Too bad Andy what's his name is working to bring the two networks together and end the apparent discord the two have had for years.

 2. New M&A. This time Nexstar is selling. Nexstar is selling one its satellites of Grand Junction's CBS station KREX. Its Glenwood Springs satellite, KREG is being sold to Marquee Broadcasting for $350K.

 3. Ken did the noon news one time last year while Lisa Rayam was away and they couldn't get anybody (occasional fill-in Joanne Feldman apparently left for the day); it was a bore. What's next, WSB's sports guy Zach Klein subbing for Craig Lucie (or Justin Farmer, for that matter)? As for 4:00? Fox 5 sure as hell ain't going to give up their beloved "Judge Judy" for news, considering she's still the #1 show in all of syndication (and beating Ellen DeGeneres locally). Since the expansion to midnight, News Edge's audience has continued to grow as most of us wanted a serious alternative to Fallon, Colbert, and Kimmel before calling it a night. Of course, the only two people who'll end this speculation once and for all regarding Stephany Fisher joining Fox 5 are News Director Mike McClain and Vice President/GM Bill Schnieder.

 4. Regarding channel suspension... I don't want to hijack this thread too bad, but I did want to to say that the following things can help when trying to keep your YouTube channel up and running. My channel was suspended due to a couple of these, and I now do not upload a whole category of clips and promos. Things have changed, but if I learned anything it's... - Avoid network promos that have footage of TV shows in them. I know, that's about every single one of them. The problem with network promos is that a movie studio owns that footage - no matter how it's blocked with your favorite station's graphics or music - they still own every part of that particular moving image. - Most televised specials or special events are now administered by a 3rd party than originally broadcast it. This 3rd party may be more vigilant of how the footage is used, and may not be too kind to your use of even so much as a bumper. - NBC/Universal is the most vigilant of the use of their properties - though I have noticed a specific drop recently in enforcement for older clips, and things clearly being used as historical or "aircheck" material by hobbyists. - WWE loves to issue monetization orders to random videos. They will not back down, claiming they own the most asinine of things (Amoco spots, various automobile commercials), forcing their ads on to them. The good is that it is not a COPYRIGHT STRIKE - it is only a claim to monetize. You can delete the video and clear it up, but it's still a very dumb trend. - NEVER monetize your channel. We don't own this stuff - it's unfair and immoral to make money from views relating to them. This is one category you can really get nailed on, so never ever do it. If YouTube finds out you're doing it, every Google account you have will be shuttered, and you will likely be taken to court. Copyright infringement for money is a big deal! FYI! -TheTVMadman

 6. "ASSIGNEE IS THE LICENSEE OF WMDT(DT), SALISBURY, MARYLAND (FACILITY ID 16455) AND WEVD-LP, DOVER, DELAWARE (FACILITY ID 16456) AND THE PERMITEE OF WGDV-LD, SALISBURY, MARYLAND (FACILITY ID 187979). THE OWNERS OF LICENSEE ALSO HOLD ATTRIBUTABLE INTERESTS IN THE LICENSEE OF WGTA(DT), TOCCOA, GEORGIA (FACILITY ID 63329)." This feels like a spectrum sale (KREG is on UHF) but wouldn't it be a little late for that?

 8. In Atlanta, I'm looking at the shape of the demographics and if you look at all (4) stations it's the same white male/black female. I think that what has been their thing. First, is Stephany coming to WAGA? Second, with Lisa Rayam leaving or whatever the case maybe Stephany, will move into the 6pm anchor desk. Cynne already does the 10pm with Russ. I'm just looking at what has been the norm for that market in particular. Nobody, know how anything will shape out. Again, it just my opinion, and not written in stone. We've seen stations streamline talent and moving them away from sports to news. Jeff Hullinger former sports anchor at WAGA now lead anchor at WXIA and does sports there too. Ken has a great personality, and if they were looking to find the right person to replace Russ. Ken, would be great at the job! He's great at doing live shots from whatever game he covering. Russ is a strong male anchor, and Ken also solid, but to me Tom doesn't seem as solid, and that just my opinion. The Edge has done well, but there are time ratings points fluctuate with the competition.

 9. Seems to me that NBC is going to keep both of their channels alive in Dallas. The station bought a pair of UHF transmitters to get them through the repack and ATSC 3.0 transition. I bring this up because somewhere there was mentioned that NBCU was looking at their options in the incentive auction. If they were going to elect to change bands or sell one station and share a channel they probably wouldn't be buying two new transmitters.

 10. Speaking of which, I have NEVER heard of or seen a news team taking part in sooooooo many photo shoots together. Do they have to do them so often in case someone gets another gray hair or wrinkle?

 14. I agree, enough with this dog discussion already, if anything this dog discusion should be a seprate thread on the New York News Forum, since it has virtually nothing to do with WABC's on-air and TV presentation. Now, going back on topic now, I hope... Any word on when the new graphics are coming? Or is it speculation again? .

 15. Usually has to be station-based so that it has tangible 'movement' and tracking throughout the day since the NWS only updates hourly. If you have a Weatherbug or Weather Underground-based station, all the better.

 16. Just to stir the pot, here's a Twitter post by Bill Evans showing that dog that some of y'all are so obsessed with. The post was retweeted by WABC. So, they hate him, but they don't. They don't want him around, but they do. Discuss. I'll grab the popcorn.

 17. Thanks so much. There was sort of a big hole in that "Six Is News" era. The clips we have on YT now show how quickly WITI was changing — the use of the original "TV6" brand, "Six Is News", and then a more provisional "Fox Six" prior to a reboot in 1998. It must have been a revolving door of brand identities and collateral there!
