  1. I didn't respond to this part specifically for some reason, but this is the more shocking of the acquisitions. Literally anything could happen after this clears.

  2. This topic reminds me of a great book I found in my office when I took over as Art Director at a station on the West Coast -- it was from the Broadcast Design Association, dated June 1980. It listed photos and construction information on some local news sets built around that time. I've been meaning to scan this book in to share it with you guys, I know you'd find it interesting. A lot of sets back then were actually designed and fabricated in-house. Forgive the quality of these photos I snapped with my phone from the book - need to go scrounge up a scanner: Here's a list of all the sets included in the book:

  3. I wonder whether Weigel has ever called Qunicy as to inquire as to whether WSJV was available as to possible return ABC to its original South Bend home and to full power status in Michiana. As for KNLC, aren't they a religious station at the moment? Would Weigel have to reprogram that station from scratch? In KAZA's case, this will finally put Pappas out of the TV business competely, moreover, it appears that they'll be sharing with KHTV-CD, which will warrant a COL change as the KHTV-CD signal does NOT reach Avalon.

  5. Chuck Scarborough is not in tonight which I think is almost 3-4 weeks he's been off. Wondering where he is. Maybe he is just taking most of his vacation time now.

  9. First off..kudos to WFLD for being respectable to Jeff and waiting until after his last day before making this official announcement. Classy move. Secondly, Corey is a great choice given his experience at the station (and the market) plus it's a reunion of sorts given both him and Dawn worked together on GDC several years back. I knew there was a more logical reason Scott unofficially (now officially) moved to GDC weeks ago other than filling in for Corey. I also figured Corey wasn't in the running for the job, but this is a pleasant surprise. After years of mistakes and/or missteps, some pretty solid decisions are being made.
