  1. Surprised nobody has mentioned how Jeff Glor's last broadcast ended with a 1:45 long credit roll with an extended cut of the theme.

  2. This is turning into a list thread. We don't need to identify every station in the graphic. Figuring out who's logo it is isn't that hard to find out.

  3. I think they did that to show people they are focusing on news from everywhere - not just the major cities.

  4. Interesting note, several episodes of Oddity Archive used content from FuzzyMemories (Ben Minnotte even directly credited the site himself in one episode, with special thanks to the site being given only in the credits of other episodes), even providing links to the excerpted videos in the closing credits of the particular episodes. I hope Ben doesn't use Chrome, because if he ever plans to use FuzzyMemories content in future OA episodes, trying to download them from that browser through the website's player to edit into the episodes would be difficult. Seriously, try to get the player on the FuzzyMemories website to load on Chrome and not wonder "What is the freakin' holdup?"

  7. While not TV related....this is BIG news out of New Orleans, and proof that good old fashioned demand can overcome the stupidity and short-sightness of a lousy owner.... https://www.nola.com/news/2019/05/owners-of-the-new-orleans-advocate-buy-nolacom-the-times-picayune.html The Manships created a New Orleans edition of the Advocate in response to the T-P going to a 3-day schedule. Eventually the T-P relented and went back to publishing 7 days a week. The Manships ended up selling the Advocate to Georges Media, while retaining WBRZ and KRGV. Even as the T-P tried to undo the damage, the new Advocate pushed them into 2nd place in New Orleans. Now if only someone can make the other Advance papers (and clusters) great again. I know newspapers are a dying industry, but the decent companies are still putting out a quality product while those that slash and burn are getting wha'ts coming to them for their cost-cutting...

  9. If Jim Vance were still with us, I think he would still be doing the 6pm show on WRC. I know he stepped down from the 11 a year or so before his cancer diagnosis, but I'm pretty sure we'd still be hearing Vance telling us about the day at 6pm, damn I miss that man.

  10. I'm not much of a fan of Ella Dorsey but it's all but said she'll get that position. Not as the chief meteorologist but personally me, I would love to see WGCL give a few meteorologist spots to Bobeth Yates she's multi-talented.

  12. In a tough blow for enthusiasts like us, The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's (FuzzyMemories.TV) YouTube channel has been removed on copyright strikes. Their website is still active, but several of the pieces in their archives were YouTube-exclusive.
