  1. NN couldn’t own the Afghanistan story because of their limited resources over seas. While the other networks are owning this, let them. NN move in and own Ida. Own it. Stay on the air, own it. You have the resources to even share live station coverage like HLN used to do did it.

  2. So earlier I went to 1iota for no reason (and by that I meant "looking for talk shows near me that are bringing back audiences") and I got to see this: A variation of the current logo calling back to the original logo in celebration of the 25th season and the silver anniversary. Looks much better than the first version, and reminded me fondly of the original.

  3. Can y'all just stop! This happens every year when staff take vacation. They are entitled to vacation. And for many with years of experience and high compensation, they get a lot of it. When an anchor is missing they may be sick, may be on vacation or took a personal day for whatever reason. We don't need 20 posts speculating they are gone or whatever. It is too often on WABC, and as was mentioned it spilled over to WNBC as well. If someone leaves a station, you all find out anyhow. No need to speculate. Back to the topics.

  4. The 6 logo looks the same as it did when it debuted in September 1967 to denote color presentations.

  6. He wasn't terrible, but he just seemed nervous. Stumbling over his words and getting too excited during responses. They should've given him two weeks. I had high expectations for him.

  7. God, ABC is missing out on a lot of my money by not having a WLS store. The ABC7 flashdrive and Eyewitness News drawstring bag that I got for free doesn't make them much money.

  8. I really hate KOIN's "6". But yeah, the "11" isn't great either.

  9. Scott shouldn't talk. I can barely understand the point he's trying to make with as many errors as there are in that post.

  10. I noticed WLS now streams their newscasts at 60fps. Did the ABC O&Os upgrade their livestreams?

  11. This goes back a ways; I think Dobyns retired from TV in the late 1980s. ----- MEBANE, N.C. (AP) - Lloyd Dobyns Jr., an award-winning NBC News correspondent who reported from places around the world and who anchored an innovative U.S. television newscast in the early 1980s, has died, his family said. He was 85. Ken Dobyns said in a statement that his father died Sunday in Mebane, North Carolina, northwest of Raleigh. He said his father suffered complications from a series of strokes. Dobyns worked for NBC News in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and was known in the U.S. for working with Linda Ellerbee on the late-night news series “NBC News Overnight” in 1982 and 1983, according to a statement released by Ken Dobyns and online with a Raleigh funeral home.
