  1. I wish CNN would go back it’s Roots in Atlanta and back to the hard news format that made it a household name. When CNN moved majority of its shows to NY that was the beginning of the decline. It’s probably wishful thinking, But I would love to hear Live from “The CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta”

  2. Yeah, because WBBM is known for its stability…

  3. Thanks. I was wondering whose newscast that was.

  4. Agreed. Uniformity with a distinct touch of individualism is cool. As I've previously expressed I think CBS' problem is that they try to duplicate a generic format without a locally authentic touch in a lot of their o&o cities. Yes ABC for example has duplicated the ABC 7-Eyewitnes News branding across multiple cities, which is fine, but there's a distinct feel between the New York and Los Angeles stations. I remember when KPIX had to do the news for WCBS, it was almost indistinguishable that the news was being broadcast from another studio/station on the other side of the country.

  5. Vanessa is a class act and the most caring person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with when I interned at WFTV. She was always there to help you and teach you new things, she was there to brighten your day if you had a not so good day. I know she will be missed by many in the Orlando market. Enjoy your retirement Vanessa you deserve it!!!

  6. I like how they are so lazy that the slate shows Kansas. Like, who cares?

  7. That looks like absolute crap. But meh. In line with Nexstar's general lack of interest in Colorado.

  8. What I meant is Today does more stories on ordinary people as well as entertainment news. GMA is straight up tabloid from 7:15am through the end of the show. All they do is talk about famous people and laugh. Is the TODAY show the best morning tv show ever? No, but it's certainly better than GMA, and CBS Mornings is better than GMA as well in terms of news and lighter content.

  9. That's a valid opinion, but that's just your opinion, of course. By the way, not sure I'd use "fake" to describe GMA. Like, I'm pretty sure the show exists.

  10. The reason why their number 1 I think is that they have strong local newscasts before it and people don't change the channel. Plus, TODAY does a better job at doing lighter content than tabloid GMA. Plus TODAY has better personalities.

  11. You're asking if anyone watches the morning show that happens to have the most total viewers? (Today wins narrowly in some demos). They must be doing something right... it's almost as if a majority of viewers don't care about news and would rather wake up to something softer and more digestible.

  12. Does this show even do news anymore. They rush through the news to get to entertainment and tabloid stuff. They should drop the news and turn this program into and entertainment/talk show. Does anyone ever watch this fake show?

  13. This is why I wish Disney would just go ahead and buy Cox's "big" ABC stations, but with Bob Chapek in charge, that seems to be even more of a remote possibility. It'd be a win for them in all 4 markets. WSB: Top station in the Atlanta/North Georgia Market and Cox's flagship. Isn't this ABC's #1 top-rated affiliate in the country? WSOC: Once the top station in Charlotte, now a respectable 2nd. Could form synergy with WTVD in Raleigh. WFTV: They'll own a station in the area that serves Walt Disney World's location, further boosting their investment in Central Florida. WFAA: Every other network station in the Dallas/Fort Worth market is an O&O, so ABC might as well join the party and also form synergy with KTRK down in Houston.

  14. The upper floor couch area looks nice, I like the yellow one on one interview chairs. The tiled "GMA" video wall next to the carpeted group discussion circle looks nice. It works for today's video wall area but it's not superior to the textured living room sets from days past posted here earlier. The L3 graphics aren't all that.

  15. GMA has launched new graphics and a new second floor set that looks 10/10 (there’s a couch again). Not sure how to do the fancy screen grabs but this is the best I could do. Some of the elements of the new set make me wonder if they’re introducing an audience component again? Doesn’t seem like there’s space for it. https://www.newscaststudio.com/setstudio/good-morning-america-4/

  17. Why did the morning show "sit in a living room" kind of atmosphere ever go away?

  20. I've noticed that the CBS eye is more prominent than before; they've only started using it a few years ago. Portland tends to use call-letter branding rather than network branding for their stations, except for KPTV.

  21. That looks like a flipped WCCO logo.

  22. I wouldn't be disappointed if KOIN got the standard-issue CBS graphics. However, these topicals do look worthy of a bigger market such as Portland, so kudos to Nexstar.
