  1. It was official on this thread earlier this morning, just a few posts up:
  2. Yeah, you're right. It's a rumor now and should have no bearing on her employment status unless it becomes fact. I agree people need to worry about their own lives, but it's part of the territory when you become a public figure, whether it's fair or not.
  3. While you're both mostly right in that it's nobody's business, I feel it is her employer's business. I say that because how you act in your personal life affects your image, which many times affects your station's image. I believe a lot of news people have clauses in their contracts stating such and as grounds for termination.
  4. First break in the normal routine. Tom is anchoring tonight (Saturday).
  5. Reread jerseyfla's post again. They're referring to replacing LAA with RTM happening a month ago on WCPO.
  6. I think the point Morning News was trying to make was along the lines of "the pot calling the kettle black." The shows are so similar in their style, that it just seems a little weird that you claim to be a HUGE Today fan but are trashing GMA for their same style.
  7. The 5 OR 6 would be difficult as they are anchored by the same duo so they would both need to be there or neither. However the 4pm would be perfect as it uses different anchors and it's got the "social" touch. I still don't understand why they don't use Jim or Melanie as subs for the 5,6, or 10 when Rob or Wendy are off. Haven't noticed if the 4pm uses any subs.
  8. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/WNBC-4-Livestream-News-4-Watch-Live-Coverage-200911691.html# I believe it doesn't work on weekends.
  9. Speaking of WJLA, specifically the 4pm open that's linked, seems like Scott Thuman has been co-anchoring at 4pm with Alison, but Leon is not off as he appears at 5pm, 6pm, and 11pm. Could it be that Scott is the new 4pm co-anchor (kind of replacing Gordon, but on a different newscast).
  10. While I thought the 11am was Renee's newscast, it seems that the 11am newscast has a rotating set of anchors. While Renee seems to be there the most, the following also anchor it fairly often (in order from most frequent to least frequent): Vai Sikahema, Keith Jones, Tracy Davidson, Chris Cato, and once in a while Christine Maddela. I'd personally like to see it co-anchored with Keith and Renee or Tracy. While it's not as frequent as with the anchor chair, Bill Henley (and Brittney Shipp) fill in fairly often for Glen on the 11am.
  11. This was the case this past weekend again. I wonder if those assignments will become permanent?
  12. WNBC, WCBS, and WABC all make do with 4 meteorologists. That's DMA #1 we're talking about. And never have I seen anyone work 16 straight days. That's foolish scheduling on WGN's part and not making good use of their full staff.
  13. I get what you are saying. In no way am I suggesting they should trim the cast just to meet a quota. If WPVI cut Jim, Monica, and Rick just to meet a quota, there would be a firestorm of complaints. What I am suggesting is, when Jerry decides to retire, they don't need to hire someone separate, Cheryl Scott can handle all evening newscasts. If Mark and/or Jim retire, one person can handle the weeknight sports duties. When Ron retires, Alan and Hosea can split the male anchor evening duties between them. When Linda retires, Kathy and Cheryl can split the female anchor evening duties among them (although I imagine the plan is to bring Judy to evenings, and bring in Tanja for mornings). That's all I'm saying.
  14. I know it's not uncommon in larger markets. I guess I'm saying it's not needed, especially since other stations in those markets do just as well with less. And when you have a bigger cast and times get tough, it just makes it harder when you have to let someone go.
  15. I feel like ABC O&Os weekday on-air staffs are bloated in general: WABC - 7 anchors, 2 weather, 1 sports KABC - 7 anchors, 2 weather, 1 sports WLS - 8 anchors (was 9), 4 weather (now 3), 2 sports WPVI - 8 anchors (10 if you count Sharrie Williams and Alicia Viterelli), 4 weather (3 if you don't count Karen Rogers), 2 sports KGO - 6 anchors (NORMAL!!), 3 weather, 1 sports (NORMAL!!) KTRK - 8 anchors, 3 weather, 1 sports No need for a million anchors. 2 anchor teams (4 people) in the evenings, 1 anchor team in the morning (2 people) for a total of 6 people. 1 for weather in the morning/noon, and 1 for 4,5,6, and 10/11, for a total of 2 weather people for weekdays, And you only one sports person needed for evenings. Just my two cents.

  17. George was on WNT with David.
  18. I stand corrected. If it comes back as GAA, it almost has to be time shifted because of the title. Anyway, I think at this point most of the reports are also speculatory.
  19. I think the previous commentator is aware that the comments are just our thoughts and nothing more. While you are correct that some of us have speculated, I don't think the time slot has been confirmed. Not saying a replacement show won't air at 11am, but the reports only say "it is likely to replace The View", not that "it is likely to replace The View at 11am".
  20. Or maybe the third hour of GMA goes to 9am, Live with Kelly & Michael moves to 10am (for those who carry it) and whatever syndicated program is at 10am (Rachel Ray) moves to 11am. Kind of surprised they didn't take back the "Katie" hour to add to GMA. I don't think "The F.A.B." will do any better as a replacement for "Katie". I think "The View" has more worth than "The F.A.B." does.
  21. Rumor has it being a male and either Ryan Smith or TJ Holmes.
  22. It seems that the past few weekends have been Cecelia on Saturdays and Tom on Sundays.
  23. I have a feeling they are going to continue rotating/testing people for a while, and may end up going with two different people, one for each day, although I think it's better if they go with one.
  24. WCAU too.
  25. Wasn't the 11am team on from 1992 to 2013? And I believe the 4pm team has had a long tenure as well.
