He made his debut last Wednesday behind the anchor desk.

I wonder who will anchor at 5pm with Tracy? My guess is either Johnny or Fred.

I don’t know why stations think it’s taboo or something. It was commonplace back in the day. KYW did it earlier in the week too.

If I had to guess, WABC, WPVI, and WTVD will be the next to add 3pm newscasts.

I wonder if his debut has been pushed back.

I never said it was about hierarchy, that was someone else’s argument, which I argued would have resulted in a different lineup. But you’re also wrong, it’s not about shifts either. If it were, why would they not have Gray anchor the 10pm and have Walter do the 11pm?

Okay, relax. Did it create bias in their presentation of the weather? I think you’re making a big deal out of nothing.

Or maybe WPIX passed on it. Not trying to sound sexist, but I am sure the game is not a big ratings draw.

Why does she have to be replaced on Saturday Today? Is there any reason she can’t keep that role?

It was: 12noon: John & Sarah 4pm: Walter & Sarah 5pm: Gray & Christie 6pm: Sarah 10pm: Walter 11pm: Gray I get what you’re all saying, but in that same hierarchy and line of reasoning, Sarah should’ve been the fill-in at 11pm, and someone should’ve filled in at noon for her. Or when Rick is off, Brian should fill in for him and someone should fill in for Brian then. Just seems stupid. I know, I’m nitpicking over something stupid.

I get that, but is there a big difference to having Gray do it over Walter? Neither are “top” anchors.

So I realize that yesterday was a holiday full of fill-ins, but what’s the purpose of having Walter fill in for Gray (and Sharrie) at 10pm, only to have Gray fill in at 11pm for Rick?

KYW plays this or a similar video every morning before their newscast, and they’ve been doing so for a while.

This chart makes me wonder if WABC or WPVI or WTVD will start a 3pm newscast with Rachael Ray ending and vacating the 2pm spot (GH would move to 2pm).

I feel it’s more likely they would add both Mike and Michelle as co-anchors with Shirleen if they’re switching things up.

John Muller. Jodi Applegate. Antonio Mora. Tamela Edwards. Jane Robelot. Whit Johnson (Was with CBS network and then went to KCBS).

Wouldn’t it make sense to put Shirley on one of the earlier shows, so that Tamsen’s not anchoring 3 straight hours.

I wonder if WPHL will continue to outsource their 10pm news to WPVI.

I wish Gayle was 5 days a week. They could call it “Gayle King Live”, sounding similar to the last successful show they had in the 9pm slot (Larry King Live), as I presume it will be the same type of show.

Wonder who will replace her on weekend evenings with Walter. My bet is Alyana, but I could see them giving Christie, Maggie, and Nydia a tryout.

If that’s the case, I wonder if they’ll also keep one of Keith or Johnny in the evenings as well.

Wonder where the new hire will be placed. Interestingly, Johnny has been on with Tracy at 5pm this week, and Keith with Jackie at 6pm, 7pm, and 11pm.

Wonder if the other CBS O&Os will follow suit.

Wonder if the ABC O&Os in the east will begin a 3pm newscast.

So it’ll be Tony & Jumi in AM, Leon & Eun at 4&6, and Jim & Shawn at 5&11? Surprised they don’t just rotate anchors for the 11am and keep Erika on weekends.
