Well this is stupid. While it may benefit KCAL, it’ll probably hurt KCBS. Who wants to watch 2 hours of national news and features at 4am and then almost an exact repeat at 7am? Would it not make more sense to simulcast the 4-7am local newscast on 2&9 instead?

I’ll disagree on that. While he may be knowledgeable, I don’t think he has the greatest on-air persona, and feel Krystal was better at that, and management obviously did too, hence why she was filling in weekday evenings.

Bill’s got to be up there in age, maybe 65? Can’t imagine he wants to work past 70. Really liked Krystal and feel she was underutilized. Steve just doesn’t do it for me, not sure why they picked him up. I imagine they’ll utilize some of the T62 weather people as they did one morning last week. What exactly has been her role there? Has she even been on air?

On a separate note, Johnny Archer has anchored alongside Tracy the past two days, and I must say they work really well together. 10 should think about pairing them together for either 11am and 5pm, or 4pm and 6pm.

WCAU has had some guy in Dallas doing the weather weekend mornings while Krystal is filling in on weekday evenings for Brittney who is on maternity leave. Honestly surprised they just don’t have their NYC station meteorologists fill in as they are the closest.

WPVI had similar absences (except theirs were spread across the entire day, in some instances 7 of the 8 weekday anchors being off) a few weeks ago for two straight weeks.

Have they mentioned what’s going to replace The Good Dish? Maybe Rachael Ray from overnights?

Ducis has been out the entire week. With Jamie now handling weekend duties as well, just seems wrong to make her work 9 days straight.

This Monday morning Jillian Mele and Alicia Vitarelli are in for Matt (who will be along later today) and Tamela. Also, Gina Gannon is doing traffic. Alicia also anchored the noon solo (but did say Sarah would be along later). I'm wondering if there’s been a COVID outbreak. There’s been way too many people off, with Sarah putting in a marathon shift Thursday (and was supposed to be on Friday), and Matt pulling a marathon shift on Friday.

And the odd fill-ins continue into the weekend. Jaclyn solo anchored Saturday morning, Alicia solo anchored Sunday morning and noon, and Nydia is in for Walter on Saturday and Sunday evening.

I think you took my post out of context. I wasn’t suggesting Pauley or Norville head to the EN. I was quoting someone who mentioned the numerous talent that has gone from NBC (specifically Today) to CBS, and was adding those two names.

The morning open now includes Matt.

Sunday night’s newscasts had new openings with talent’s names. Interestingly, the names mentioned were Brittany, Jamie, and Walter. So Jamie must now be doing weekend sports permanently. Also, some interesting anchoring over the weekend: Saturday AM: Bob Brooks & Christie Ileto Sunday AM: Jaclyn Lee & Nydia Han Maggie Kent subbed both evenings for Walter. Not a fan of the Gray/Sharrie pairing. They don’t gel well together. Surprised they don’t utilize him for earlier fill-ins.
