  1. They had been advertising the day prior that they would be on because of the severe weather. Was Matt solo? Surprised Karen didn’t pull double duty. I wonder if they would consider messing with the morning team and having Jessica do traffic while keeping one of David/Karen for weather and having the other fill the position on weekend evenings vacated by Melissa.
  2. I was just about to comment on this. Looks like she was a reporter and anchor in Atlanta. I’m wondering if there’s any anchoring in her future at CBS3. On a separate note, are Natasha and Alexandria no longer anchors of the 4PM? Ukee and Jessica have been anchoring it since Covid hit, and it doesn’t seem to be as fill-ins.
  3. Speculation not over. Where exactly are they going to fit her into that already jam-packed evening lineup? Most stations seem to be making cuts, this one just keeps adding.
  4. I thought today was supposed to be Jeannette’s last day, but I guess it was yesterday. Missed the open, but there was definitely no mention of her in the close. Sarah was anchoring at 4pm with Brian, and Erin was the feature anchor today.
  5. I can agree on Matt, but not necessarily Ann. Norville was let go under similar circumstances as Curry, yet the bad blood has boiled down to the point that it has completely gone away as she was present at the last anniversary.
  6. Looks like her last day at WPVI is Nov. 25 (first link). Looks like her first day at WTTG is Dec. 7 (second/third link). https://www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/news/2020/11/02/action-news-anchor-departs-station-for-d-c.amp.html https://tvnewscheck.com/article/more-news/255364/jeannette-reyes-new-wttg-weekday-morning-anchor/ https://www.adweek.com/tvspy/fox-5-d-c-taps-philly-anchor-to-join-morning-team/225453/
  7. If they don’t give the 4 PM to Sarah at this point I’d be very disappointed. Alicia could add feature reporter responsibilities again at 4 PM in addition to her 5 PM duties. Jaclyn was hired as an anchor/reporter so it’d be natural for her to get Sarah’s Sunday night spot and possibly add Saturday night to her responsibilities. I surely hope if Sarah gets it they don’t continue her Sunday-Thursday schedule.
  8. If she’s doing that much filling in, they definitely need to find her a spot on their team.
  9. Cecily and Adam handled weekend weather duties this weekend. This time, Cecily handled Saturday evening, while Adam handled Sunday evening. I believe Adam had off on Friday, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Cecily has off on Monday. Also, interestingly, Walter anchored on Saturday evening as usual, but Sarah was solo on Sunday.
  10. I wish Nightline would go back to their Edd Kalehoff theme too.
  11. It honestly makes sense to rotate the four weekday weather people for the interim. They can do the same thing they did this weekend next weekend but substitute David Murphy in place of Karen Rogers. There are no early evening newscasts on Saturday because of college football, so it’s easy for Chris to do Saturday morning and night, and then Sunday night. And then the following weekend, they can have Adam and Cecily split the weekend again, and whoever does Saturday can get Monday off in addition to Sunday, And whoever does Sunday can get Friday off in addition to Saturday, that way they each still have two days off, with the working meteorologist just handling all the evening/night newscasts on Friday and Monday respectfully.
  12. Last weekend Adam handled Saturday evening while Cecily handled Sunday evening.
  13. Where’d you get this info from? His tweet clearly say he’s joining WNBC, not freelancing. And I’ve seen nothing that says it will only be reporting, and not anchoring too.
  14. It’s just Walter on Saturdays. Sarah co-anchors with him Sunday nights, and she usually has off Fridays (in which Jeanette usually subs for her at noon and Alicia subs at 4pm). For a while (mid-March until a few weeks ago) because of the pandemic Sarah was working from home and instead was working M-F and Walter was soloing during that period on Sundays.
  15. So it’s likely David was off or unavailable as he seems to be George’s backup for chief anchor and breaking news.
  16. I think it has more to do with CBS and NBC’s prime time and sticking with channel you’re already watching.
  17. Whit and Cecilia seem to be the common backups on weekends and after Tom on weekdays. I actually enjoy Dan on GMA weekend and don’t think he’s best suited for evenings. And I feel like you guys are in the minority here. People are tuning in so people do like David and Tom’s style of delivery.
  18. This is where ABC excels in looking to the future. They know how to identify rising stars and put them in a position to be ready to slide into a bigger role. CBS should take note.
  19. Based on articles above, it seems logical to deduce that Rosemary is going to weekend evenings. Always seemed stupid that they moved her to weekdays to anchor a 45-minute newscast. They overloaded on weekday anchors and now have to spread who’s left over more newscasts.
  20. I like the move of Keith and Erin to mornings as I feel they have the right personalities for it. But this leaves a lot of questions. Who will anchor at 11am? What happens to Lucy and Rosemary? Will Tracy be solo at 4&5, will she get a new co-anchor, or will Jim and Jackie split those shifts?
  21. On an aside, I saw Rosemary Conners is back on And was anchoring Saturday night. also, saw Vai and Tracy will only be on together through next week. Not sure if that means both in studio or on air. Thought he wasn’t retiring until November.
  22. Technically they are still on 40.2. The reason they’ve kept the name is probably because of brand recognition. And if they were to rebrand, I think ABC Central Alabama would make more sense.
  23. Not sure when this happened, but saw that Sarah was back in the studio at noon today.
  24. Is Krystal filling Britney’s weekday evening shifts?
  25. Wasn’t he let go because of Diana? She wanted off 6/11, and was reassigned to 5, bumping him to weekends to finish out his contract.
