… except that’s not what happened in any of his past employment situations at all. He was not passed on for promotions, and in most situations had positions most people work much longer to achieve.

My only issue with Demarco is he doesn’t seem to stay anywhere long. Not good if you’re grooming someone to eventually take over the mothership GMA. And not only does he not stay long, he’s been at all three networks on some level. Doesn’t scream loyalty either.

Because they want stability, and an 80-yr old isn’t gonna provide that. And a matter of correction, she works 4 days a week, as she has Mondays off.

No big loss. Never cared for his presentation. Seems to be going downhill in market size. Went from NYC to Philly, and now to DC.

KCBS 2/KCAL 9 - CBS Los Angeles News Thread

Extenuating circumstances as they were going through an ownership change. It definitely sounds like indecision and a rebrand, not brand evolution. -

So their strategy is let’s go all in on the KCAL branding only to change it a short time later? Sorry, doesn’t make sense. -
Syndicated News for the 2022-23 TV Season
TVNewsLover replied to H-Town TV Fan's topic in General TV
https://pagesix.com/2023/01/11/rachael-rays-talkshow-may-be-coming-to-an-end/amp/ Looks like this might be the last year of Rachael Ray. Could see the east cost ABC O&Os starting a newscast at 3pm, and moving GH to 2pm. -

KCBS 2/KCAL 9 - CBS Los Angeles News Thread

If you listen carefully, even Pat is confused. She Says welcome to KCAL 9 News at 6 on CBS Los Angeles. The 5pm anchor says KCAL News at 5 on CBS Los Angeles and KCAL News at 6 on CBS Los Angeles. The open says KCAL News Los Angeles. So right there you already have 3 different names. -

Who anchored the noon? More equitable would be: A: 4am-7am B: 7am-10am C: 10am-11am, 11am-11:30am, 12Noon-1pm -

Enlighten me. What are KCAL’s ratings for news in the morning? That’s right, there is no news. The two stations don’t have a different product - it’s the same people and same product. Why not simulcast to get more eyeballs watching? -

Still think it’s silly to run CBS Mornings (east coast feed) on KCBS 4am-6am. Just simulcast the local newscast on both channels from 4am-7am and then exclusively on KCAL from 7am and on. That’s the best way to build ratings for it. The argument that KCBS is in the basement ratings wise and that’s why we are moving the newscast to KCAL doesn’t quite hold. What’s switching channels going to magically do for ratings? -
NBC Considering Giving 10pm/9pm Back To Affiliates
TVNewsLover replied to Georgie56's topic in General TV
I’m not sure why everyone thinks that if NBC gives back the 10pm hour to affiliates that the affiliates will continue to carry an 11pm news. Heck, I’m not even convinced they’ll carry a full hour of news at 10pm. I could see them doing news at 10pm and giving affiliates an option of running an abridged version of Top Story with Tom Llamas at 10:30pm, followed by The Tonight Show at 11pm. -
https://www.nexttv.com/news/local-news-close-up-full-speed-ahead-in-motor-city Looks like Jeff Skversky is switching over to the news side in Detroit and will be on the main anchor team alongside Shaina Humphries at WWJ.

63 yo and 10 years of service with the NBCU family.

With KNBC, WMAQ, and WCAU all losing their top male anchors, at least some if not all to retirement buyouts, I’m surprised Chuck has not taken the opportunity to call it quits. He’s approaching 80, you’d think he’d want to enjoy retirement.
-
Wonder if it has anything to do with the NBC cuts as NBC has offered a voluntary early retirement package. Who will succeed him? Keith? Johnny?

Either that or Monica would’ve gotten the 11 solo I think, as she was the more frequent fill-in. I wonder if Sarah will be the primary fill-in at 6pm just as Sharrie is at 11pm.

I wonder who will replace him at noon? Still think they should have went with Rick & Sharrie at 5,10,11, and Brian & Sarah at 12,4,6. My bets are on Christie, Alyana, or Alicia getting the noon spot, with Gray as a long shot. And although Brian is probably my favorite anchor at 6, seems kinda sexist to replace both male solo anchored newscasts with two male solo anchors.

Jillian co-anchored all the weekend evening newscasts this past weekend again.
-
Jillian’s been co-anchoring with Walter on all the weekend (Sat and Sun) evening newscasts this weekend.
-
Any word on her replacement? I’d like to see Shawn get the 11pm and Pat the 6pm. I wouldn’t mind seeing Eun cross over to evenings either. I wonder if they’ll ever swap the 6:30pm half hour with NBC NN.

I’ll disagree and say Rob is my preferred candidate. That being said, I’d be ok if Ravi is picked, but I do think one slight change should be made if Ravi is picked: Rob should get the 6pm with Judy, and Ravi should get the 7pm with Cheryl.
