  1. I’m not arguing with you. Just trying to understand what you were saying since you weren’t clear in your original post. Calm down.
  2. You said different situation. The situation is exactly the same, it’s just the people involved that are different.
  3. @MorningNews Long tenured anchor Leaving for competing station Beloved by viewers Not sure how it was different, and it obviously made sense to pull her from anchoring, but station management should’ve let her give a goodbye.
  4. WABC took Lori Stokes off the air but let her say goodbye in the last 10 minutes of the morning newscast.
  5. And today as well. Danny Freeman handled the 11am yesterday. On a related note, Bill must be losing it. Yesterday he referred to Katie (who was filling in for Sheila) as Sheila. Today he referred to Frances as Rosemary.
  6. Odd anchor pairs today: Jackie anchored with Johnny Archer at 4, but Jim was solo at 5 and 6 (and I presume 7). Jackie was back with Jim at 11.
  7. Sone odd anchoring fill ins: Natasha has been filling in in the morning and at 9am alongside Janelle while Jim’s been in the UK on assignment. Janelle’s been soloing at noon. Siafa and Ukee co-anchored together at 4 and 5 today. Just seems odd that they wouldn’t send Siafa to morning to fill in and keep Natasha in evening to fill in. Also still perplexed they haven’t handed off the noon to the 4pm team. Earlier this week, Jessica was subbing for Natasha, there’s no reason Siafa couldn’t have handled the noon.
  8. Is there any evidence that they are adopting these names? Can they not use both their current names and the CBS NEWS (CITY NAME) concurrently. Use the current names for the traditional newscasts and the city name ones for digital/streaming/online and non-traditional newscasts like the ones on the sister stations.
  9. Who does maria saavedra Anchor the 4pm with? Maybe her and Brad can helm 11am and 4pm?
  10. Don’t they already have 6 meteorologists? I took this as Ed and Robb will be splitting weather duties at 11am.
  11. I wonder why they didn’t have Chris and Mary anchor the 9am, with Cindy picking up the noon, or even Dana doing the noon.
  12. I doubt that’s why they hired another meteorologist.
  13. You can spin it anyway you want, it’s a demotion, unless they asked to be placed there.
  14. Based on what other O&Os are doing, it is likely Jim and Janelle. Now would be a good time to hand over the noon to the 4pm team.
  15. Most of the O&Os are actually carrying it.
  16. They could air it at 3pm replacing news or have it swap times with Inside Edition.
  17. That’s got to be a placeholder for a week or two, can’t imagine that being the solution.
  18. If the Nexstar station is affiliated with a Big 4, I see the status quo remaining in place. But if Nexstar has a MNTV affiliate, I could see a swap happening.
  19. I would think so too as he is most deserving and probably my favorite on the weather team, but I’m thinking of the optics of it. Is it a good idea to have the three men weekdays and the two women on weekends?
  20. Love Cindy, but feel Chris and Mary would’ve been better choices and better use of resources. They could’ve handed off the noon to Dana Tyler.
  21. Guessing this is Gray’s replacement on weekend mornings. That was quick by WPVI standards. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article263922491.html
  22. Don’t understand why they can’t make AFG and Ana full-time hosts. They’ve had more than 5 full time hosts in the past, and this would give all the hosts leeway to take on other projects on the side. They can have all six hosts on on the same day too.
  23. Have they hired people to do the local news and weather cut-ins in Atlanta, Seattle, and Tampa?
  24. Christie Ileto anchoring at the network on America This Morning today.
  25. Another mention in the article that I agree with is that CBS didn’t go with a unified branding, particularly Next Weather as not many stations use it.
