  1. Last week there was a day Lauren was on with Diana at noon, and Sam was doing weather.
  2. I could be wrong, but WCAU has Vai before he comes on the air, and then Lucy after Vai takes over in the co-anchor chair. In the 4pm and 5pm Jim usually fills that role (occasionally Keith at 4pm and Jackie at 5pm. WNBC used to have Karry Barrett handling that in the mornings before she left.
  3. I’m not trying to be rude. I’m pointing out that your posts are repetitive, not just here (see all your WCBS and WNBC weather related posts). It doesn’t seem to be accidental (1 minute apart would be accidental). Seems as the moderators are asleep at the job, as they’ve scolded me and others for far less offenses in the past. As too David, what I meant is for Mike to replace David if David were to move to Bill’s role after he retires.
  4. Do you realize that you posted the same exact thing about 14 hours apart. Your repetitiveness all over the NY boards is becoming annoying. As to the topic at hand, I actually would like to see Mike either take over for Bill or David. Mike’s young and has plenty of experience, and is great at what he does. I like Joe, but like Sandra, he’s better on weekends and as a weekday fill-in. His personality just doesn’t scream “lead anchor” material.
  5. I’m sure Matt Peterson will fill her spot as he is on staff as a fill-in. I wonder if Chelsea is going to one of the other O&Os.
  6. Surprised they flew someone from KGO in to fill in. Could’ve just had a WPVI person drive in.
  7. Christie Illeto is in tonight with Walter.
  8. I think it's safe to say if WPVI is going with an in-house candidate for the 5pm co-anchor chair, it's Sarah's to lose. She's filled in 7 of the 10 days so far, with all three of the other days coming on days Sarah was off (two of them during the Memorial Day weekend, and 2 of the 3 days she was off Sharrie filled in). She obviously has chemistry with Rick and is already his Noon co-anchor. This past weekend saw Jeanette Reyes filling in for Sarah next to Walter on Sunday evening. I'm sure they'll continue to test others, like Christie Illeto, next to Walter in the coming weekends. I wonder how long they will wait before making anything official.
  9. I actually am excited about the new anchors and think they will work out great. Although perhaps they should hire a second anchor team in the future for evenings. I just hope that WTXF tweaks the presentation a bit.
  10. Valid point. I guess what I was getting at was it bothered Scott enough to complain about it, so why didn’t it bother him enough to leave? And now he’s bring it up again. Megyn and Ann, as far as we know, might’ve been aware of it, but never complained about and pretty much minded their own business. I know a lot of people here are big fans of his, but at the end of the day, the general television viewing public never really warmed to his presentation. Disrespectful for him to say this while he’s still employed by them. Still sounds like sour grapes to me.
  11. Weekday weather crew in this weekend. Cecily did Saturday night, David Murphy did Sunday Morning, and Adam’s doing Sunday night. As for 5pm fill-ins: Friday (5/24) Sharrie and Sarah were both off, so Rick soloed at noon, Christie filled in at 4, and Alicia filled in at 5. Monday (5/27) Brian and Sharrie did all the evening broadcasts. Thursday (5/23), Tuesday (5/28) and Wednesday (5/29) Sarah anchored with Rick at 5pm. Sarah was off Thursday (5/30), so Rock soloed at noon and Sharrie filled in at 5pm. Friday (5/31) Sarah soloed at noon, Rick and Sarah anchored at 4pm and 5pm. Rick will likely be doing the 10pm solo. Saturday (6/1) Sarah subbed for Walter. Sunday (6/2) Jeanette Reyes subbed for Sarah alongside Walter. Monday (6/3), Tuesday (6/4), and Wednesday (6/5) Sarah filled in at 5pm.
  12. Seems a little suspicious. First, wasn’t it his show, so wouldn’t he have had oversight on such matters. Second, why would you stay at the company after all this? Seems like he’s making up excuses for his failure as an anchor of the CBS EN.
  13. Yeah, they went with the no-name short open. They may test others in the chair, but I think Sarah is the best and most logical choice.
  14. Sad to see Monica go. Could’ve seen her and Rick taking over the 11pm once Jim retires. Wishing her the best in the next chapter of her career. I’m thinking Sarah will add the 5pm to her responsibilities, and either Christie Ileto or Jeanette Reyes will get Sarah’s spot on the weekend evenings.
  15. Checked out the newscasts yesterday. Nicole Baker (morning anchor) was filling in at 5pm, and Rick Ritter was filling in at 11pm. Was surprised to see two male co-anchors at 11pm.
  16. I wonder if she’ll be doing traffic or something else. If traffic, I wonder if Karen is headed to WABC?
  17. Don’t you mean the Mountain feed on an hour delay? The Eastern/Central feed would be on a two hour delay.
  18. And local news from 4:30-7 is too much, adding on an additional 2 hours will be overwhelming. They already repeat stories as it is. And the FOX affiliates that go to 9 or 10 already rely on infotainment stories, it’s not like they’re providing additional news stories. And for those of you who keep talking about how great Pelley was, realize you were in the minority. He did nothing for the ratings.
  19. Sarah is in on a Friday once again! Interestingly, her recent sub, Christie Ileto, was in the newsroom with a preview of the later shows.
  20. Maybe a 3-way swap? Jummy Olabanji from WNBC to WRC, Adam Tuss from WRC to WCAU, and Rosemary Connors from WCAU to WNBC? Jummy gets to return to DC and WRC presumably fills their weekend morning vacancy left by Angie Goff. WCAU gets another male anchor (can co-anchor weekend evenings and become a rotating 11am weekday anchor) and WCAU also trims their already overloaded female anchor bench, and WNBC gets a rising star in Rosemary Connors to fill their vacancy. If Jummy is returning for weekend mornings, makes you wonder why she left WJLA to begin with. Update: seems Jummy will be the LiveDesk anchor in the mornings: https://tvnewscheck.com/article/more-news/234565/wrc-adding-jummy-olabanji-to-morning-news/
  21. Nexstar acquiring it won’t affect the cap at all. Not sure I agree with the independent assessment. At least MNTV provides two hours of programming every night.
  22. I wonder if Nexstar would be able to acquire it to pair with WJW and acquire the MNTV affiliation.
  23. You know people are on vacation when they have to pull in Monica Malpass to anchor at noon.
  24. When he stepped away from the 11pm in 2015, he also said he planned on fully retiring towards the end of 2017 (you can find this in articles from that time), so I doubt he would’ve still been anchoring the 6pm if he were alive today.
  25. Where is Alicia Vitarelli? Is she on some sort of leave? I have not seen her in weeks. It was nice to see Sarah filling her role on the 4pm show today (the two main anchors usually fill the role when Alicia is off). Both Sarah and Alicia were included in the closing.
