  1. Oh thank god! She can go the f*ck away!
  2. WLBZ is a semi-satellite of WCSH. I think they still maintain separate IDs.
  3. TEGNA mandate requires the use of the PSIP in all branding. So it's most certainly either ABC 5 or WOI 5. So either they pickup WOI5.com or they keep ABC5Iowa.com as the root. The latter is cheaper.
  4. They definitely will. It doesn't comport with their branding policies. ABC24.com redirects to LocalMemphis.com currently. So ABC24.com will become the root domain. WeAreIowa.com may remain the same, but it could redirect to ABC5Iowa.com as well, to align closer to Tegna's branding standards.
  5. People, what we have here is a mix of the CBS O&O package and the CBSN package. That's what we will see going forward.
  6. A designer at Tegna told me that if you want to be involved in the collaborative design process, apply for the open motion design position here: https://www.jobs.net/jobs/tegna/en-us/job/United-States/Motion-Graphic-Designer/J3Q5ZX757HK8MCYB7T4/ They would love your great ideas and to provide you with industry experience!
  7. These are super clean and easy to use. They aren't as bulky as Nexstar's website or as clunky as Sinclair's. A step ahead of Scripps too.
  8. Hmm. You may want to send a note about that to the NMSA.
  9. Better than KRDO who's the last station using CounterPoint.
  10. If they aren't real, which I sort of expect at this point, they are really easy to copy!
  11. This opinion is making me very uncomfortable. The Rock or NBC News from Groove Worx (cr. 2007), is definitely not in-line with the local branding and feel of the market. Even though the Tegna graphics hub is located here, they have persistently chosen the most bland package to work across multiple markets.
  12. I'm not sure if his contract at KYTX was not renewed or he decided to move back to Colorado. If you recall, his children and grandchildren live in Colorado and his ailing mother live(ed?) in Tyler. He left KMGH (during a tumultuous time at that station, to be sure) to be closer to his mother, but had frequently returned to Denver where he owned a second home to visit local family. I haven't asked him directly, because it's none of my business, but he could have simply decided not to renew his contract at KYTX because he had no more local ties. He seems to persistently reside in Colorado these days, even after his KDVR/KWGN contract was not renewed.
  13. And then given the same boot along with Ernie Bjorkman at KWGN. This was really disappointing. Innovation is great, but long-term guiding experience is critical too (especially when it comes to anchors). Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing for GMs.
  14. I really have to wonder how KCNC manages to still ranks number 2 especially with all of the issues that I see and know about.
  15. That's not a knock off. It's been syndicated (see below). If there is any confusion about what a knock off is, it's a secondary graphics package that looks like another design originated at another station. Likely the package is executed horribly if it's meant to mirror the design completely (see WNEM) or has clear elements similar to an original package, where there is no mistaken identity for inspiration (See WSMV).
  16. Although I don't like the package, Aerial hasn't aged since its commission in 2010.
  17. We will see who emerges. I'm sure it will be a clusterfuck to watch.
  18. Exactly my expectation for KDVR-KWGN.
  19. Isn't that what Nexstar does though? I mean, simulcast as many newscasts in duopolies at as many stations as they can? I wouldn't be surprised to see that at KWGN/KDVR. Fox 31 News on Channel 2, as well as significantly shrink the staff at KXRM and use most of the same team since a lot stories (politics, sports and weather) can/do come from Denver.
  20. What happened at WWJ?
  21. I think that was kind of the point, and I am honestly very excited!
  22. That's, frankly, insulting to any Spanish viewer.
