Just a quick question to see who you are who you say you are: Once WCAU finishes converting their receive sites how many HD ENG will they be able to handle at once? (I asked during a periscope Q&A one morning at 4AM. )
-
I shouldn't have brought it up but at the same time I was trying to make a joke while being as vague as possible. I appologize for spreading that rumor. I had no right to spread it and discuss an anchors personal life. I heard about it from a comments on TVNewser.

Maybe he's upset that a colleague he was rumored to be with has moved on.

Does not sound good. Is it a GoFundMe type of thing? Those crowd funding things drive me nuts especially when it's for something stupid. Also I meant ironed this in the ShoutBox but I asked during their morning periscope how long does it take for the signal to reach the hub and back for transmission and they said they weren't hubbed. Is this true or are they mistaken? I asked if their digital operations center was where msnbc /cnbc live shots happen and they aid that happens in New York. I was referring to when people where in Philadelphia and former governor Rendell has appeared from Philadelphia with the monitor wall in view showing live NBC/Telemundo programming. Maybe they weren't the right right people on the know.

Tracy and Chris seem to have good chemistry and have fun on the morning shift. If you ever seen their behind the scenes periscopes in the morning it appears they get along well.

WMAR is launching The Insider at 7:30 starting next week. Find it interesting that the show is going up against their sister show Entertainment Tonight.
-
I find it surprising they aren't giving WMAR The Now treatment. Scripps must be wanting to spare them from any more ratings woes.

I occasionally watch but my mother, who like myself is a liberal, really liked Nicole Wallace. She was the type of republican that made you want to agree with her. She made her point known but also had logical reasoning behind it. She was completely unlike any previous conservative panelists. They should have kept her on at least as a contributor with the up coming election cycle. To be quite honest The View with out politics was quite boring. I like Joy Behar and am glad she's returning. She should have never left.

If anyone's up between 4-7AM NBC 10 broadcasts on Periscope under their twitter handle @NBCPhiladelphia. The broadcast shows many of the behind the scenes elements of the studio and the anchors will frequently interact with viewers during commercial breaks. I've tuned in for a half an hour before falling back asleep and it's quite entertaining. They do it almost every morning and the videos are archived for 24 hours.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwRtCcN2tfM Never noticed how high up WRC's skycams are. In this clip you can see a helicopter flying on the bottom of the video frame. Also when did their news desk get a monitor installed?

WBAL didn't do that to their bugs but for their 65th year on air they ran a promo featuring their studio renderings and every logo they've used.

Ug. Wish they'd get rid of the orange room.

So I'm you already seen this but I just saw this tour of KYW. The tour guide was very funny, kind of like an older Ross the Intern. I loved the cleaning of the windows bit.
-
This morning they tossed to Jeff Rossen who was at the video wall. It was shot off axis with one or two panels of the wall and windows shown.

I think they are automation lite using ELC to control playout but that's about it. The director of engineering did an interview a year or two ago and seemed like they weren't going to do it. Edit: my local station isn't automated at all.

How much work would it take for Scripps to adapt their package from chyron to VizRT?

WBAL-TV's weekday morning meteorologist Ava Marie had her baby on Thursday. Miri Marshall WBAL's weekend morning and noon on weekday is pregnant as well. Something must be in the water in the weather center. [yt]5bphhNN88JQ[/yt]

WCAU cancelled a mayoral debate after failing to agree with the democratic mayors six page memorandum of understanding which included things about the size of dressing rooms, water bottles and camera angles. I can understand some things set up for equality but dictating camera angles is ridiculous. I wonder what other demands were on the list. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/NBC10_cancels_mayoral_debate_over_demands_by_Kenney_campaign.html#disqus_thread

Blake McKoy will be joining NBCNews initially as their correspondent based in LA, https://twitter.com/nbcnewspr/status/631142818396917760

Does anyone know why the default ABC News ticker during America This Morning and Good Morning America does not match their graphics package and why don't they provide a default standard style for their affiliates to cover up?
-
I've seen msnbc use Steve Sosna semi regularly in the afternoons when The Cycle was on the air and their "chief meteorologist" Raphael Miranda wasn't available.

I think she should have kept quiet until this whole debacle was over. This explanation is extremely fishy.

I don't have a link handy but Maryland Public Television has outsourced their master control to WGBH. If I recall correctly the article said they had eight master control operators - two are staying on, three retired, one found another job and the remaining two have yet to find another job.

I think this won't end well for her. Before reading the details I thought maybe she could come away unscathed but once I saw how big and complex this indictment I realized that there was no way she could plead ignorance. For me the "sale" of her Porsche sealed the deal in her involvement. Don't prosecutors sometimes charge both spouses (despite spousal privilege) in hopes of getting one of them to turn the other one in? Naturally the story made Nightly News and they disclosed that his wife was an anchor at WCAU. It seemed like they left the picture of Renee on screen longer than her husband. I imagine this will be an uncomfortable situation for Renee and her colleagues when she returns. I imagine she's used to her coworkers covering and examining her husbands job during day to day duties but it's a whole new ball park when theirs criminal wrongdoings and you are mentioned in the indictment. Hopefully she will realize that this is her coworkers job and there won't be any hard feelings when this is all over with.
