  1. This. Some of these might see changes next year, but this is the bullshit we'll get to look forward to. Yikes.
  2. WNBC graphics and possibly talent were actually used in the show's pilot. It must've been produced with NBC in mind, before ABC picked it up.
  3. My gripe is that none of this feels like Fox. A cheap NBC style, unorthodox like ESPN, though I still don't hate it. I could live with the touchdown animation, but those comic book-looking illustrations of the players are so stupid, especially since they don't have renderings of some players. Luckily, that's a very specific thing that could be too complicated to replicate league-wide.
  4. Tonight's show appears to be coming from one lf their flashcam setups, with brighter lighting, no wide shots, and only OTS graphics.
  5. Well, that's way more of a departure than I would've expected. Just in that small view, it's hard to pass full judgement, but I kinda like it.
  6. Are there any examples of these supposedly awful new graphics? Any time I've tuned into FS1 the last few days, everything seems to be normal.
  7. Michael surely made some mistakes, but so much of this is rooted in Kelly's insecurities. Almost a decade later, she's still convinced that Regis left the show, in some part, because of her. He was 80 years old, at the time. He was just ready to go.
  8. That crossed my mind, giving a "news" option that's mostly "exclusive" to the new service.
  9. If it's as a reporter, it could be anywhere. If as an anchor, WBBM and WFLD have had job listings for awhile, though the former has recently taken down the position, implying that CBS 2 may have filled the position.
  10. Maybe a little too intense for late night, but it would've been nice to see more mileage gotten out of the final sports telecast theme.
  11. 'GN Sports' launches tonight, and I can't stress enough how much I love this look. The evolution of logos is so nice.
  12. He wasn't in the latest slate of GDC promos, so the writing was on the wall. Hopefully his therapy and treatment will help him out, on and off the job.
  13. Veteran (semi-retired) reporter Paul Meincke is recovering out west after a trip to the ER resulted in him having heart surgery. He'll be recovering away from home til at least April. https://www.robertfeder.com/2020/01/24/former-abc-7-reporter-paul-meincke-recovering-heart-surgery/
  14. Drew Tuma, weekend evenings at KGO.
  15. Just posting the original Instagram links would be easier than uncropped screenshots.
  16. I mean, this move actually makes sense.
  17. No joke. Check out this promo... https://www.freep.com/videos/news/local/michigan/detroit/2020/01/17/news-now-kevin-dietz-promotional-video/4499779002/ Double yikes.
  18. Not surprisingly, Shae Peppler is signing off from the FOX32 sports team after the Super Bowl. Her husband, ACC Network host Jordan Cornette has been commuting between Chicago and Bristol since the network's launch. ... Meanwhile, Robert Feder mentioned this morning that Rafer Weigel has been cleared in that whole sexting mess, but no word on when or if he'll return to the station.
  19. Lauren does Fridays, and isn't in promos, so I'd imagine she'd join Jarrett for the Friday edition, or he'd handle it, solo.
  20. This morning, GMA celebrated Robin's 30th anniversary with ESPN/ABC (they grouped it as Disney, which is untrue), and while I love me some Robin Roberts, the special guests were the highlights.
  21. Was OAN not hiring?
  22. That's just a report originally packaged for GMA.
  23. Well, lookie here. These graphics sure look familiar.
  24. Weekend Today from Washington? What is this, 1989? (Look it up, y'all.)
  25. I saw a crawl during Chicago's Best last weekend, telling of the time change, so this seemed to be coming. They appear to be taking the KTLA route, keeping Instant Replay at 9:40 (between newscasts), and not expanding it and pitting it against The Final Word on WFLD. Also, no mention of S.E.E. Chicago on that list, so that might be gone.
