As long as the temp set has been in use, as far as I know.
-
That's a given. The backdrop behind the anchors is the video wall, something they've been doing since before the renovations began. The question is ultimately the legitimacy of the area on the left (to the anchors' right).
-
There's a case to be made, there. The newsroom space on the left looks a little flat, as if they made a big screen print. That said, I don't know what other such studio space of this decent size would be available.
-
They adjusted the lighting a few weeks back. I think it's an improvement. I don't think it's duller, so much as the light contrast isn't as strong. The whole look feels a bit bright, and not so dingy.
-
Nothing new tonight. I can't imagine what they're doing that's taking so long, while maintaining the same bones of the 2010 studio and the refreshed desk.
-
I doubt it. The 2018 set was in the now-Tamron Hall studio, after The Chew ended. As elaborate as that set was, I think that was also an exercise in AR and other tech. Could stuff like that be in consideration in this main set update? Maybe, but I doubt they'll use the newsroom set for the 2020 election. I'd be shocked if they don't remodel the second floor of Times Square, once more. They've used that space for the presidential election for the last 5 cycles (plus the first floor for the 2014 midterms).

WABC is the only major market ABC O&O to carry only 4 meteorologists, with one of them being a veritable talking head (I love Same, but his arrangement limits his availability outside of M-Th mornings). With a middle of the road weekly output, there is absolutely no reason why they can't have a permanent 5th, or at least a regular, locally-based freelancer.

The Roundtable segment starts around the 31-minute mark.

My mom said it was "Skinny White Women in Black Night...and Ravi" on ABC 7.
-
I'd welcome it, though I'd prefer the 'This Morning' branding, most of all. Meanwhile, Liz Nagy filled in for both Ravi and Karen last Saturday night. There's no set regular fill-in when they're both off, as it's so infrequent, so that's no big deal, but I was surprised to see Liz anchoring with Ravi tonight. The NFL game was not in primetime on ABC, but apparently they were ready to go on at 6:30 (which got scrubbed), so maybe that was the reason. I can't think of the last time, if ever, he got a co-anchor on a weekend, in Karen's absence. Karen had a few, during her 2 pregnancies, of course.

So, this is new. The recent morning promo look (the shades of blue and yellow, minus any GMA rings) has made it into a new rejoin, debuting on December 23rd. I believe this only airs during the 4:30 half hour (I know not at 6, but unsure about at 5), which is odd, as Samantha Chatman doesn't appear that early. Either way, this replaces the talentless rejoins that launched after Tanja was promoted in 2016. It feels like a very soft launch, so I'm not even going to post it to YouTube until it shows up later in the show. 2019 morning rejoin small.mp4

No idea, but it can't just be a coincidence.

ABC must be having some kind of master control issue, because this has been happening sometimes on WLS, lately. That's the logo that flashes during the final few seconds of network promos, but it appears that someone or something is failing to turn it off, so it just keeps blinking.

I thought Brianna's primary assignment has been 11am, not weekend mornings.

It sounds to me like some holiday-themed production music, and nothing more.

That area around Central Park is a hotbed of real estate development, with billions in leases/mortages on the table, as 60/70/80-story buildings are now lining the perimeter of the park. That whole block is toast,

It appears that the temporary video wall has been reinstalled on the main ABC News set, positioned closer to the desk, in front of the usual installation. Last time, it was to switch out the monitor array with a seamless curved display. No idea what's up this time, though they've been making some updates to lighting and walls over the last several weeks.

Hired as a reporter, then did weekend weather for about a year (between Jim Ramsey and Andy Avalos), though he was likely filling in, by this point. He'd be doing morning news updates sometime later that year. By the way, despite referring to Super Tuesday, that newscast is from Sunday, March 11th.

I'm pretty sure that's the real deal. Looks way too good to be a knockoff.

They have absolutely nothing to do with one another, so this closure has no bearing. I'm sure they're still looking at their options with WGN America, which only has any chicago connection in name, alone.
-
And I fixed it. No one's crazy or a broken record.
-
The KABC package also has a 2-line lower third option.
-
All 3 Chicago stations are doing it, that's all I know.
-
...And ABC. I believe 'Nightly News' was first to do this.
