This week, the XFL began preparations for its return during its 2023 season with a brand new look, feel and drive, including a new logo that deviates from the logos of the Vince McMahon era, and signifies the new Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital era. (Wow, needs some color.) Here's the mission statement.

Agreed. It was especially a disappointment that the second version didn't last, and Tong & Blackmon weren't moved over to the other weekday timeslots (and Tamsen Fadal was).

Looks great. This really should've been the design from the start (even if I did personally like the tunnel look the went with). A refresh or straight-up overhaul is totally overdue.

Licht is an excellent choice. He made CBS This Morning a legit news program worth watching and improved Late Show with Stephen Colbert into a must-watch and genuinely funny late-night talk show. When his tenure goes into effect, I'll definitely watch CNN regularly again.

Honestly, Ion is a much better spinoff brand for Mystery than Court TV ever was -- since it is very well known as the cop/crime drama rerun network, so this makes so much sense.

Apparently, yes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viacom_(1952–2006)#cite_note-3 -
Allison Gollust has also resigned from CNN. (As she should.) https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/allison-gollust-resign-cnn-warnermedia-1235183160/

Viacom is dead, long live Paramount...
Action Newsroom replied to TheOneManHerd's topic in Corporate Chat
And just as I grew to love (read: tolerate) ViacomCBS lol. This is a name they should've went with the first time (either that or CBSParamount) but personally I'm satisfied with the change nonetheless. -
Morning Joe's hour four debuts April 4. Joe, Mika and Willie will host all four hours.

I know that. I meant a variation similar to those "clones".

Finally. The updates to the main desk area and the big screen were good, but they needed a completely new set for way too long. While I expect a set on-par with most of the other O&Os, I hope they get a set like KDKA or WBZ.

Gayle King has re-signed with CBS.

I love this new look of the streaming network. The graphics look simple but great, the new music sounds amazing and the set looks fantastic (and the desk finally has a regular home). This whole new look is very well done and better than both ABC and NBC by far.

Jim Gardner Reducing Schedule, to Retire at End of 2022
Action Newsroom replied to Morphtato's topic in Philadelphia News
That's nice. No thanks, I don't want to; I gave it a rest hours ago. I just wanted to finish my piece and move on. If you do, fine. I apologize that you felt that way. -

Whatever, bud. Good to know. I admit yes, and that's my fault; apparently twice is often to you, but no that's not the reason. And you too have a nice day. -
Jim Gardner Reducing Schedule, to Retire at End of 2022
Action Newsroom replied to Morphtato's topic in Philadelphia News
Okay, you relax. Not everyone does 2.5 hour TV news shifts every weeknight. That's the thing. And that's also commonplace. I didn't see a big deal or difference either until earlier. That's just my opinion. I'm done here. -
Jim Gardner Reducing Schedule, to Retire at End of 2022
Action Newsroom replied to Morphtato's topic in Philadelphia News
I will say again, I said two hours a night. Mornings is one completely different thing. Since Jim and Jackie does more, that's their prerogatives. But I'm referring to Rick. Don't put words in my mouth. -
Jim Gardner Reducing Schedule, to Retire at End of 2022
Action Newsroom replied to Morphtato's topic in Philadelphia News
It was mentioned at the end of the show.. He said he'll be back from time to time to cameo. Sorry, I should've made that clear in my last post. I mean why should he stay at 10pm? I wouldn't want to spend more than 2 hours to a night if I were him. -
Jim Gardner Reducing Schedule, to Retire at End of 2022
Action Newsroom replied to Morphtato's topic in Philadelphia News
The announcement of Rick as new 11pm anchor was mentioned at the end of the 10pm earlier tonight. I'm very happy for Rick, and he's very deserving as Jim's successor. Now, I'm very curious about who'll succeed him at 10pm. -
As are Rick and Sharrie.
-
Crap, that gives you pause doesn't it? ABC dodged a major bullet.
-
Good for him. I wish him the best and I hope he has much better, more content and less volatile tenure with CNN+ as his former employer becomes an even more dark cloud of intentional embellishments, falsehoods and misinformation.

Great news! I love her personality during her reports. I'm sure they'll update the recent promos to add her in.

Looks suitable for (yet worse than) those sets for a news sketch on Saturday Night Live.
