  1. As featured in this article from NewscastStudio, there were plans to transition the weather segment branding from 'Eyewitness Weather' to the "Next Weather" branding currently used at WFOR, WBZ and WCCO in the near future, but they were put on hold due to the hiring of Kathy Gerrow as news director. "NewscastStudio sources say that KYW in Philadelphia was also preparing to switch to “Next Weather” as well, but a recent news director hire may have put a halt or pause on those plans" Also in the article is this tidbit about the new set: "KYW is also anchoring from a temporary location as a new set is installed in its primary studio, but that debut may be delayed as leadership changes."
  2. I totally doubt it. Considering he worked closely with her many times during his decade+ with CBS (as said in the linked article), my guess is she more than probably won't and he'll last longer than that.
  3. Adam Verdugo has been named the new executive producer of the CBS Evening News. He replaces the retiring interim EP Al Ortiz.
  4. New President Chris Licht says he wants to cut down on using the "Breaking News" chyron. Personally, I support this completely.
  5. Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki will officially join MSNBC this fall, with a show on The Choice (on Peacock), appearances across its lineup & NBC News programs and a role during coverage of the next midterm and presidential elections.
  6. Pete Williams will retire from NBC News as its long-time justice correspondent in July.
  7. It's alright but extremely basic and limited. For a studio this spacious, there really should've been much more to it.
  8. Agreed. It was especially a disappointment that the second version didn't last, and Tong & Blackmon weren't moved over to the other weekday timeslots (and Tamsen Fadal was).
  9. Looks great. This really should've been the design from the start (even if I did personally like the tunnel look the went with). A refresh or straight-up overhaul is totally overdue.
  10. Licht is an excellent choice. He made CBS This Morning a legit news program worth watching and improved Late Show with Stephen Colbert into a must-watch and genuinely funny late-night talk show. When his tenure goes into effect, I'll definitely watch CNN regularly again.
  11. Honestly, Ion is a much better spinoff brand for Mystery than Court TV ever was -- since it is very well known as the cop/crime drama rerun network, so this makes so much sense.
  12. Allison Gollust has also resigned from CNN. (As she should.) https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/allison-gollust-resign-cnn-warnermedia-1235183160/
  13. Morning Joe's hour four debuts April 4. Joe, Mika and Willie will host all four hours.
  14. I know that. I meant a variation similar to those "clones".
  15. Finally. The updates to the main desk area and the big screen were good, but they needed a completely new set for way too long. While I expect a set on-par with most of the other O&Os, I hope they get a set like KDKA or WBZ.
  16. Gayle King has re-signed with CBS.
  17. I love this new look of the streaming network. The graphics look simple but great, the new music sounds amazing and the set looks fantastic (and the desk finally has a regular home). This whole new look is very well done and better than both ABC and NBC by far.
  18. As mentioned in "CNN to Launch CNN+":
  19. That's nice. No thanks, I don't want to; I gave it a rest hours ago. I just wanted to finish my piece and move on. If you do, fine. I apologize that you felt that way.
  20. Whatever, bud. Good to know. I admit yes, and that's my fault; apparently twice is often to you, but no that's not the reason. And you too have a nice day.
  21. Okay, you relax. Not everyone does 2.5 hour TV news shifts every weeknight. That's the thing. And that's also commonplace. I didn't see a big deal or difference either until earlier. That's just my opinion. I'm done here.
  22. I will say again, I said two hours a night. Mornings is one completely different thing. Since Jim and Jackie does more, that's their prerogatives. But I'm referring to Rick. Don't put words in my mouth.
  23. It was mentioned at the end of the show.. He said he'll be back from time to time to cameo. Sorry, I should've made that clear in my last post. I mean why should he stay at 10pm? I wouldn't want to spend more than 2 hours to a night if I were him.
  24. The announcement of Rick as new 11pm anchor was mentioned at the end of the 10pm earlier tonight. I'm very happy for Rick, and he's very deserving as Jim's successor. Now, I'm very curious about who'll succeed him at 10pm.
