Are they sending the subliminal message "we're the best!!"? It is a nice looking shot , I just don't see much of the point in getting them that dressed up. I suppose it fits with the oscar theme though. Them anchoring the 10pm Sunday show as well would be more appropriate to the visuals there I would think.

I was thinking some news anchors would be down there hosting it... not weather and sports people. Obviously it's not a huge event.

I'm gonna ask for context My guess is that it's from a poster or promo showing the front line weather and sports teams... This actually makes sense in that context considering Mark, Jim and Jerry are definitely top guys and Cheryl has been inserted in that role. I imagine a year ago Mike and Jerry would be in such a promotional piece.

Good for Diane, she is a decent reporter. Where was Terrell normally seen before he moved up to mornings? I never saw much of him when I watched on the occasional evening. Hernandez, at least from the clip looks like she'll be decent. I think the most interesting thing she's bringing is the noticeable accent from Kansas.

Isn't Barbara Walters still involved as an EP? I would have thought with her around behind the scenes it still would have held together better than it has. I agree the choices of panelists have been impulsive at best... At worst they have been disastrous of late.

I get the feeling The View as a show will be not far behind the way it's going.

WFXT FOX 25 in Boston is getting a new Sports Director. Tom Leyden is leaving his Sports Director job at WXYZ in Detroit after holding the job since 2012. He started at WXYZ in 2004 and will start at WFXT in April.

A couple of things from Detroit: WJBK FOX 2 has added Megan Spencer, who was last at WTVQ in Lexington, KY until 2011 as Weekend Evening Co-Anchor alongside Ron Savage. It's wooden and subdued... I kind of like it. It's also calibrated well.

That's because a good general rule a friend once told me usually rings true: People are, indeed, stupid. I hadn't noticed any smarmyness or anything... you really shouldn't be worried about offending people either but that's just my 2 cents. I think everybody has been pretty well behaved around here lately (well really always) so I think the discussions we have been having about this and other stuff have been pretty constructive.

Well yeah that's crazy... even I didn't mean that... I just meant that virtually always there is some minor dip at least when a long-time face vanishes suddenly. I think it looks worse when the talent disappers and they release a new open without him the following Monday. Did anyone even so much as mention it on the air?

What if one of the major reasons you tuned in was Mike? Just playing a little devils advocate here. I agree it won't be some kind of dive in the numbers but it might dip a few tenths of a point for a book or two. If any big guns leave (like anchors) it would probably be more. As for the mood thing... I agree nit picking every broadcast and every single delivery is overkill. I can see once a month or something to track her progress but not every day... Jerry just kind of goes with it which is part of why he is likeable so a flawless delivery almost becomes secondary at this point. Besides... It's fun to watch him struggle to not laugh or to watch his clicker die mid weathercast..

Apparently the Mike Caplan fan base is none too pleased... The last thing you really want to do is make people mad with personel moves. There are 4 other stations to watch in town and the line may be finer than it looks between some of them, especially 5 and 9.

I will submit that she has not much more than 7 years of career experience... That's not much relative to other people in many big markets. Even then just because you are somewhere doesn't mean you are really good. It just means you are there.
