Apparently she was on the air... just not on camera. I got the impression from the article that the audio-only nature of her recent reports was in preparation for the cutting of her job and switchover to this Total Traffic service, which has the exact same format.

Cheryl Scott is going to be on WGN 720AM on Sunday Morning (1/11) at 220am for an interview on Dave Plier's overnight show about her new role on the 7pm newscast among other things.

WFLD Released Traffic Reporter Sandra Solarte, who had been there since 2005. Budget cutbacks were cited as the reason. The morning traffic reports will be audio only from I-Heart Media's Total Traffic service over a map or live picture of the roads. They had apparently been using her as audio-only since July when she returned from maternity leave. So viewers won't notice much change. This of course can always be much much worse then anything we've discussed... Witness WDIV: Lots of dead space, taking up 1/3rd of the screen. They had to shut it off for weather and sports because the picture doesn't adjust to fit the ticker and picture together reasonably. I saw this last night and was surprised it's that out of whack. These graphics aren't even that old.

What am I looking for? Is it the annunciation part rather than ascencion?

Just for the sake of showing you the new version of the ticker that I referenced above: They moved the bug, added their web address and shored up the sidebars so they are even now. This debuted today, it's an improvement though I don't think it's gonna sway you towards a design like that...

WJBK FOX 2 Detroit Reporter Andrea Isom is resigning her position effective immediately to pursue things outside of broadcasting. She had been the main reporter on "The Edge At 11" weeknights. She joined WJBK in 2003.

7's ticker isn't that great either... The bottom of the bug with the website etc. Is covered up so the ticker is just a lousy overlay. If they did it right the bug would be over the ticker and shoved to the right side of the closings or the whole picture would scrunch and the full bug would move with it. Oh and all the lettering on the L3's and the bottom of the logo all run right into the gold band and are almost slightly cut off. I don't know what 5's looks like but I hope it's better than either 7 or 9. Really strange for an otherwise good graphics package at 7. Try this ticker: Nothing colliding, no lousy overlay, nothing screwed up. Picture moved up, bug on the ticker, it's pretty nice. On TV the picture winds up centered better so the two graphical sidebars are an even width without that little clear sliver of a gap at the right edge.

Whoda thunk we'd see the day when positive words were spoken about WFLD?

I've wondered if it's all live too... The transitions from interview at the desk to next story are atrocious on that show.

I'm not criticizing you, it's a great find on your part. I'm just not sure I get what they are trying to satirize. So any criticism is all on them. Maybe it work in an Onion sort of way?..

Was that supposed to be funny or make sense?

Maybe some doubt and they want to wait one more day to see more models?

I think it's got less to do with that and more to do with available personnel.

The Scripps lighthouse idents at the end of their programs now say "Copyright 2015, Scripps Media Incorporated" rather than the old "Copyright 2015, Scripps" format they have used since 2009.

I just don't get how you think who is where during the holidays has much bearing on anything if you know how schedules work?
